It's amazing how many people around here have no idea about numbers - 100 isn't that many for a project the size of Elite, just as 2.8% is quite possible for board flippers. Starting to think FD should just standardise on the None, Few, Many scale

How many working on ED : Many
How many board flippers : Few
How many salty CMDRs : Many
How long since OA was in office : Zero
How many days to Q4 release : Soon™

Ok, that doesn't quite work... lemme have another think ;)

It's honestly baffling to me. The cries go out that we aren't given any numbers but then, when numbers are given, "Blah! No way that's true!" The way some in this community vacillate between concern and outrage is remarkable. I pity FDev in these cases...textbook definition of "damned if you, damned if you don't."

it's a position they put themselves in.

It's not so much a matter of "damned if you do, damned if you don't", it's more of a "we won't take your word for it anymore, prove it" thing.

when everything is "exciting", nothing is exciting.

As I've become fond of saying, my cautious optimism is still in the hospital recovering from the last time I trusted it to FDev.

It's really not that complicated.

Do you know when tabloid newspapers present misleading statistics and don't explain how those stats were put together or what they mean.

And laymen (aka forum members) then read those stats and form completely the wrong idea about what those stats actually mean and then start arguing based on those misunderstood and/or misleading stats and generally spouting rubbish. And other people then have to try to repeatedly correct that misunderstanding in order to have any semblence of a decent discussion.

It's that!

It's not a big deal though, at least we got a good meme out of it!

It's interesting, inviting people in for sneak previews. I wait to see what they say about it. Judging from the toxic nature of a lot of the comments on the YouTube channels associated I doubt it will help.

Fair points...and I'm not saying that I'm all in the FDev boat, but I guess I do have more faith left than most. To date, I've only really been trampled once, and that was over the Gnosis fiasco. The falling skimmer bug got me one time, but Support sorted it out. I've never really been affected by anything else and have carried on relatively unmaligned for the past two years, but the Gnosis incident did leave a mark...and created some healthy skepticism. But, as an objective observer, it is unfortunate that when they do give info, it is immediately shouted down. With that kind of community response, it's no wonder they clam up.

Well whatever the Lucky Ones were shown today, we likely won't see or hear any details for at least a couple days. If they are allowed to say anything at all.

Thankfully the Oregon Expansion for American Truck Simulator comes out next week, that will make my wait for details easier. :)

Well we are all very passionate and the streamers attending are too.

I know when I first see new stuff I have a tendency to get a little over-excited about it! :)

Yep, I remember posting the thread for that. Younger and more naive I was back then, hoping for an epic conflict. Instead we got the galaxy's greatest threat, safely secured within Non-Human Signal Source Cages.

Won't get fooled again.
