Partial update here, at least for Inf on System Map, but not the States or on the GalMap. My personal Friday evening 'tick' has triggered 'martini time' so I'm off to influence some olives into a glass, and check the state of my ice.

Similar 17:15ish time today as well - looks like a "permanent" slip, though with 3.2 shortly perhaps not for very long at this new time either.

i have changes already after playing 1 hour, after the new patch.... Tick time is now? 17:30 again?! still?

I'm pretty sure tick time is currently 17:45, I confirm Konimai's observation.

Checked yesterday and today I saw it ticking in one system I checked at exactly 17:45 and then other systems I'm checking daily as well.

No its not. Though the most likely reason for it is that you have been doing activities which are not effective in the state the faction is in - eg if you miss that there is a war in a different system for the faction,and run missions/trade or sell explo data, you will see no change

OK. So more than 48 hours had passed since the server tick updated our Faction Influence. We are within tenths of a percentage point of expansion. I did not log in to the game during that time frame, but my wingmates were and I was only monitoring via Inara and EDSM. They never saw an update in the two days. The last night, I logged in at just before 10 pm EST, and then suddenly I saw a sate change for our faction. I saw that it changed to Pending Expansion.

My question is now, does the server tick happen when I log in? Or am I just seeing a coincidence?

The tick should happen in-game whether or not you're logged in. However, for sites like Inara and EDSM to update, someobody must have visited the system while running EDMC or another stats gathering program.

Our group will often quickly visit all our systems just after the tick to make sure we have up-to-date stats. (We call this the "milk run". :p)

Thanks for the information. I have been playing for years in private groups but never tried the BGS. I always assumed that the BGS was constantly undergoing changes and those changes were logged by EDSM and Inara. I never really thought about how it would update without players logging. I feel sheepish now that I think about it.

On a side note, can you expand from a system more than once?

I always thought, "There is no spoon."
