You're thinking like a human, not like a bug. Hive instinct is to invade and eradicate highest threats. You attack them, you've poked the hive.

Do we know what startports can and cannot be damaged?
 
Will the Incursion state be a filter on the Galaxy map to watch the spread over time (and to avoid systems for traders)?
 
Anyone remembers how people feared Thargoids will be relabelled CZs? Now that we will have relabelled CZs, people are actually happy. This shows, how (unfortunately) badly designed 2.4 was/ is. However I think, I am looking forward to this change.
 
We have all seen 50’s B-movies the aliens always go after the pretty people we are allllll doo.... actually hang one, nah I think we are safe. Mental note order a large amount of paper bags to distribute amongst the player base.
 
Will there be wedding barges and cruise ships in the affected systems?

Joking aside, I am cautiously optimistic about the feature.
 
This sounds good for me, as I'm still building my combat rank. Can I ask, does anybody yet know how killing different Thargoid ships compares (points wise) the different ranked pilots?

Not sure if this answers your question, but Thargoids count as Elite opponents, so give good combat rank increased. The risk/reward for scouts is best-in-game (if you have a moderately well equipped ship).

Thankfully combat zones have changed.
 
Lol Thargoid Conflict Zones.

I remember when the Thargoids first came some detractors scoffed that eventually we'd just get stale content like "Thargoid Conflict Zones"

And here we are.
 
2) Will there be live Thargoid attacks on stations? (Similar to Gnosis event).

Not quite what you asked, but if you check out the Wrecked Megaship scenarios you may see what can happen. (Delphi is a good place to try them out as it has lots of wrecks!). (Note: Thargoids don't turn up to 100% of scenarios.)
 
We ll see how it goes but, besides PVP in open versus other players, how to fight FOR the thargoids ? To be honest, from a BGS perspective, this is quite interesting, at least its effect.

It is a powerful tool to damaged your ennemy stations


 
Are there any plans to revise Thargoid (combat) content to allow participation beyond the currently required loadouts (full hull tanks, AX and guardian weapons)? It's not like I'd not want to participate, but I've got 3 fully engineered ships yet the loadouts that I prefer simply cannot realisitically do it (bi-weave shields, armed lasers and plasma accelerators, no SCB spam). :(

I am really hoping that at some point in the future, "Guardian tech has been fully integrated into all human weapons"

And then, all weapons can damage Thargoids, but Guardian/AX weapons are just MASSIVELY better at it.
 
So instead of being completely passive in front of system invasion on server's updates, players will be able, if they want, to fight the threat.
Nice idea.
 
So what we are getting is yet another zone we can drop into to fight some thargoids if we choose, way to go FD adding yet another combat mechanic that we can choose to indulge in if we so wish, how boring and unimaginative can you get ? for those that want to have a nice safe environment to fly around in and choose to fight aliens when they so whish by all means keep this boring idea, but please also include the possibility at any time in any system that the player might be interdicted by thargoids, the game already has more than enough safe spoon fed content allowing the player to choose when to fight, what a lot of people want is the game to live up to its title " Elite Dangerous " not Spoonfed combat with no exitement or unpredictability.

I find it hard to believe that you have seen fit to add another totally unexicting predictable gameplay mechanic, it is like watching a dreadful movie that is so boring that one just falls asleep.[down] it is like going to a zoo to see bored animals lazing around, no sense of wonder or exitement that you would get seeing them in the wild, it is as if someone in your game development department said " oh i have a great idea " lets copy and paste some thargoids into the ISS game mechanic and make the whole experience boring for the player and give them the choice to drop by to see some thargoids and fight them or fly on past whistling a happy tune. ZZzzZZzz.

P.S. are we ever going to get more large ships ?? the Panther clipper comes to mind, two more boring medium ships added that offer nothing for those that like to fly the large ships.

I need to know:
How do we fix the stations?
Will we be able to do rescue stuff at the stations?
Can we repair any damaged megaships?
If we can do rescue stuff, will it effect any outcome in the system?

It would be nice if rescue missions/recovered pods affected the outcomes.

just like dunkirk.
