POI's

Hi all,

I've been exploring and scanning surfaces of planets and found some Biological POIs on all 5 of the landable planets in a system, around 5 POIs on each planet.
But when I land and visit them (I've done 3 planets so far - total 16 sites) they are all the same thing "Bark mounds".

Is it worth visiting the other 2 planets in the hope of finding something different or will they all be the same?

So do I need to visit another system to get another type of thing to go look at, say a Geological one, and in that system will they all be the same type also?

Ok no one answered yet, so I will chat with myself

So I spent all morning looking at all the POIs in this system and they are all the same... Bark mound things. Great...
Off to check another few systems now...I hope it's not like this in all systems.

I've only found geologicals so far and they do differ. Both on the same planet and different planets.

Never seen a biological so can't say whether they vary much or not.

I found some geological stuff and data scanned them but nothing pops up in codex. Do you have to scan them all at one POI?

This is good to know because my next system has about 100 geos to check out.

@OP I reckon, the type(s) of geological features you find on any given planet might (should?) be related to the characteristics of that planet - composition, surface temp, etc. I've only actually investigated a few dozen features, but there does seem to be a lot of the same/similar features on any given planet, but I expect there are some predictable patterns out there - certain types of geological features possible on HMCs, certain types possible on Icy bodies, certain conditions necessary for different biological... I expect the good folks at Cannon are, or have, catalogued this type of information. Maybe have a look at their site, or search the exploration subforum?

I just scanned with that new scanner and got a blue tick in the codex with a confirmation entry (below the first discovered by) with the time date and planet I discovered it on.
