General Gameplay DEFENSIVE HERDING

Your Feature Request / Idea
So after seeing how unique and cool the iguandon is I was thinking of ways to make other unique dinosaurs and make current dinosaurs more unique and defensive herding was something that came up. For existing dinos like cerapsids they could go into a defensive circle when one is targeted by a large predator and depending on combined stats and random roll could fend it off.

As for something completely new I have mentioned adding the sauropod Dicraeosaurus from Tendaguru before and how it would be unique is that since it is small for a sauropod it would be vulnerable to large carnivores but if it is a herd then they can gather in line with tails out to fend off predators.

Very nice! I thought of that too.

No need for them to actually fight. No need to have any kind of body contacts. A simple confrontation with formation would work!

As an idea yes. Defensive herding could be cool.

But be aware that the Ceratopsids forming a defensive circle is an idea based on not really anything. It's not based on actual science.
So a rough group closely packed would be better than a tight circle as it would be weird if they were that coordinated.

At the very least it would be cool to see more behaviors with the herding mechanics. I need to experiment with them a bit still but it would be cool to see the alpha square with would be predator or if alpha runs maybe predator taking down oldest member/sick in the herd. As of now I am pretty sure that if the alpha panics the rest of the herd will panic and follow the alpha so that is a start.

Holy carp that's a good idea.
It makes sense too that the strongest of the group would stand and face the predator. And if the alpha can't beat the predator, no one of the group could. Nice idea!

We also need the mimus', "wheeling uniform direction to change. Just like a flock of birds evading a predator." :)

5 stars. Currently all herbivores do when faced with a predator is run around wildly, I'd like to see them actually evade the predator or defend themselves.
