PSA: Open is carnage and I expect them to follow us all the way

Didn't really think so... you'd not have spilled if you were, but the thing is, nobody knows, nor will until they strike I suppose.

Anyway, good luck out there... holding off 1 attack will probably get you a promotion to expert, so there is that I suppose.

The problem is, I've never been able to instance with this gank squad in open so far, even at times when the system chat was clearly suggesting that attacks in open were taking place. I was always curious how many seconds my shields would hold in an actual PvP attack, but no luck so far. I even did a full mining run in open for the CG yesterday, and it was all just a few CMDR Sidewinders hanging around the station. Maybe I'll have to meet up with Ziggy once he arrives in open. :)

What are your shield stats, and what ship are you flying?

I'm hanging out mining for the CG at the Omega wp, and being alert for ambush gankers which is draining. The general chat is all but 95% about the ganking and what to do about it constantly. imo, the exploratory intention and shared journey vibe of the dw2 expedition is kind of ruined by this.

So join Fleetcom.

I'd follow y'all but honestly ESO is holding my interest more right now.

They probably scanned you back at the start and blocked you once they saw you had weapons. Just guessing of course.

Lots of combat equipped ships have died. Not on the scale of explorers, but combat fits are not necessarily excluded from the party.

Send anyone on the PvP side a friend request. Most of us accept them all.

Instancing with specific players is difficult unless the system has a reason to instance you with someone.

I actually had the wizard CMDR on my friends list for a few hours on launch day, when he was at Brooks Point, but I never saw him even then. I'm assuming a lot of the PvP types are from the US and not able to instance with Euros because of networking stuff.

Depends on what you were up against and how you managed your escape.

If you were to sit still or fly in a straight line like most explorers do, well, see the video I posted above.

And you'll find that most of us are pretty pleasant and helpful, to boot.

Harry is closer to you than me, and I was instancing with him for days without even being on the friend list.

Maybe you have a firewall issue or some other network related problem.

Synthesis, AFMUs, and repair limpets essentially negate the need to dock and the average durability of the opposition will likely decline faster than the combat capabilities of those intent on shooting them down.

Only if they're careful with heat and collisions though (those high alpha damage attacks can be pretty toasty). Otherwise that PP damage is going to accumulate over enough engagements.

It's true. PvPer's are incapable of taking any stat besides DPS into consideration.

Fleetcom wasn't mandatory to participate and there is far more activity and instancing of the DW2 fleet in open. Not my fault gankers are using DW2 for their annoying and disruptive activity.

By the way, is Harry in the Space Farce Expedition?

I promised him a RL hug if he shot me down on DWE2. I like the idea of owing Harry a hug.

I heard him on the chat "offering" to be protection escort. ugh.

Are you sure? Not the manditory part. I've never logged into anything but Open - until DW2. I started in Open at Palaenni, but hardly saw anyone - far more Cmdrs were in the Fleetcom PG. I've stuck it out to WP2 in the PG and much to my surprise, I've encountered Cmdrs all along my route - especially at the suggested locales. Now at WP2 and can honestly say that there are as many Cmdrs in Fleetcom as I have ever seen at any bubble CG in Open. The main difference is the nature of the chat and no gauntlet of the same 2 dozen Cmdrs that hang about every CG station in Open. I'll log into Open later tonight for comparison.
