Those are both false, ftr.
I'm IN the expedition.

I don't think you've done much exploration. No, my powerplant is fine, and it also powers my mining gear.
However, the point is we're talking about survivability rather than straight up exploration builds arent we?
Survivability in my case means being able to land on high G worlds close to a star (sometimes within the scooping zone) without having to use a single heat sink. That's why the powerplant is G5 low emissions instead of armoured.

But you can achieve the same results flatlining non essentials when you require to do these kind of things (i.e. if I was doing that I'd turn off weapons, fuel scoop, countermeasures, the SRV bay and of course the cursed cargo hatch as well as anything else superfluous before making my approach.
Since there's been talk about survivability, curious about whether a Type 6 has a chance. I'll preface this by saying I decided to pay my dues in open last night, and I was really impressed by how fast I died! Only run into gankers a few times previously (mostly a couple years ago), and I was about 50/50 at that time. I've read all the advice concerning escape, but last night was interdicted a couple seconds after entering the system and let's just say "turn, boost, don't fly straight, high wake" got about as far as "turn, bo."
So, the question on my mind is whether there's a build for a Type 6 that would stand a chance, under constraint that I'd mod core internals and use and mod a grade 5 shield, but wouldn't sacrifice other optional internals to defence. Mostly an academic question at this point, but curious.
Hahahahahahahahaha!!! You owe me a new computer monitor because I just sprayed coffee all over mine from laughing so hard! Wait, what? What? You... you weren't making a joke?
That's kind of you. I did up my power plant armor and shield size from their original values before launch, but mostly as a defense against careless meet-ups, although I had thought it would do better than it did in escape. If I were at computer, I could post it.
Back when the chance seemed about 50/50 I didn't mind trading "content" as often as it happened, but a life span of seconds... Actually wasn't so bad--got me docked real fast.I wouldn't wish that on someone with data to lose, though.
We're just part of the eco system, Ziggy. Nature isn't always pretty, but it is what it is. If it were not for predators, the prey animals would over run
Both are true but unconnected statements. Most predators kill for survival success (except maybe for cats and orcas). That role equates to pirates. You're nothing of the sort, killing merely for entertainment alone. I think that's more like a psychopath (or is it sociopath, I don't know). Those that fill that role in other animal social communities are typically either short lived or otherwise isolated. I reckon you should be sentenced to a prison colony and banned from ever acquiring an FSD or passenger ticket.
Expansion of the humanity must be stopped for the sake of galaxy. We're like greenpeace with guns

It's a video game so no one is actually exploring or trading either.
I wold HOPE you're also playing for entertainment.
Btw, animals don't kill "for survival success" or anything else so noble, hahaha...
That implies a choice, foresight etc.
They just do it when the opportunity and stimulus coincide.
Funny parallel there if you really think about it!
I can't count the number of times I've gutted fish I caught, that were already so bloated with food there's no way they could swallow the lure.
