What would be interesting to see is how people who have lots of connection problems and people who have few connection problems are connected to the Internet and to the game.
router to Net: fiber/cable (phone or TV)/mobile, IPv4/IPv6
PC to router: cable/wi-fi
game: uPnP/TURN-NAT/port forwarding
There are various options how the game is connecting to the servers, maybe there's something in the default method that's causing connection instability. MTU size? UPnP vs TURN vs Port Forward? Something else (on server side)?
the servers going down every time: This is an issue that sometimes cannot be avoided, even when our dev team work to ensure the servers can handle unexpected (and expected) load-spikes... be it general user spikes, special event spikes, community event spikes. It's like having 100,000 people hitting amazon.com at the same time, their servers will simply overload for a short while as things catch up - be it manual intervention or automatic scaling to get things back running. The same happened with our Elite Dangerous servers and the Distant Worlds II event kicking off. Having thousands of commanders hit the server with actions all at the same time, made the server CPU's go from low to max in mere seconds. It's something that I know our development team has been working on to minimise for quite some time.
Have to agree. All of these are in the bug reports submitted. Lots of people have shared their netlogs.
It doesn't matter how, if new players experience this:

Only one bad meal kills a restaurant.
Hey Commanders,
I've made the team aware and we're currently investigating. Please do let us know if you continue to have trouble!
There does seem to be an unusual variation in peoples experiences.
But as for "RIP, doomed! etc, nah.
I have always personally found Elite Dangerous to be a stable platform and have rarely had any server connection issues.
You're very fortunate, then.
Or experiencing what most players get, depends on your perspective.
Can't connect...at all.
I'm trying to complete a 5 jump journey....doesn't seem too much to ask...but no, disconnected 4 times and now can't connect at all.
I've always had connection issues with ED (usually lose connection 2-3 times per session) but it seems to be getting worse.
Edit: Also I love the fact the launcher says Server Status OK....is it really?
Why do you insist on keep coming to this thread and throwing in little accusations and suggestions that people are whining or the problem does not exist simply because you do not have any issues. Are we to understand that if you personally have no issue, all the other thousands of comanders could not possibly have any problem?
Finding it a little tiresome truth be told. There are connection issues for me every single day around 5pm onwards. Late evenings or day time weekend seem fine. Although yesterday / night was trouble free. 100% when I have issues in Solo switching to Open pretty much solves the problem instantly. These are facts.
You're very fortunate, then.
Oh, I'd decided to block people like this long before I even bothered to register for the forum. Some people would argue night was day if it gave them another lick at Frontier's lamppost.
