Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

It is that horrible heavy damp snow, that breaks things - the hyacinths are mashed, and the fritillaries aren't looking too healthy. Snow is great in the mountains, where it belongs, not so much in a sheltered and early-flowering garden :(

This is an exceptionally cute cat, but I would say that, because he is mine :)

On my way back, stocked up with goodies.
2.5k, 46 jumps.

Called in at Triffid nebula very nice, lovely views.

And once again, I find myself distracted from the job in hand...

Oo! Wassat shiny thing over there?[yesnod]

Sitting in a hangar in Imperial space, having a shmoke und a pancake and waiting for the universe to turn until I can claim my Prismatic Shields. o7

Upgraded my pirate Adder to a Cobra! With the way I have it rigged up, I can now steal 16 tons of booty instead of a measly 4 tons.

Ahoy CMDR!
My pirate ships have Engine-Focused Distributors, because they don't need SYS and my weapons aren't much of a drain either. I have 0.4.2 on my power-spread and so far, so good!

And I've just remembered I have engine focused on my long range explorer, so I can still boost.

Just had an interdiction at 1.01mm from safe disengage from SC. So close! And all I was carrying was cobalt. The fools :D

At 65% into Tycoon. So near and yet so far. I might try mining to break things up a bit. Or perhaps open up another engineer... choices, choices.

On a side note, Windows Update has decided to stop working. Tried so many things. Two left to go: sfc /scannow; reinstall Windows. Don't want to do the latter. Also, my case and fans need 5A compressed air fired at them. Well, it is nearly Spring.

having a forced VR break due to conjunctivitus .. so that includes ED

playing a lot of pinball, as well as some tv screen based gaming instead. (destiny 2, Strange Brigade and steamworld dig) :)

It's alive! The 'Tijuana Taxi' has returned (MkII).

I finally had the mats, engineers unlocked, why not.
Still, gonna miss the Galnet paintjob.
Taking her out for a quick test run to HIP 36601, grab a few mats while I'm out here. Mind you, I remember the short test run on the original TT... ended up at Sag A.:D

Bought a Python, just to try it.

It is nice to have a medium sized ship capable to haul more than 250+ tons but I'm a little disappointed about the view. The Lakon ships have great cockpit views for VR while the windows of the Python are very narrow and not much can be seen. I did a very steep orbital entry and I had problems to visually find the land settlement I was trying to go to.

I'll go back to the T-7 as soon as this CG is finished.

I completely understand but there are times when I feel happier not to be sat in a glasshouse positioned to act as the buffer if anything goes wrong.

I concur. I am in my Python more than any other ship and it's a brilliant money spinner for haulage missions.

To mitigate the view restriction, if only a little, I have my field of view set to maximum. It does, at least, "feel" a little better. I may go into outfitting and get the roughnecks to swap out the cockpit for a Krait. I never use the copilot seat anyway.

There used to be a saying in the airline industry, "If it's not a Boeing then I am not going". I have long held a similar view in Elite Dangerous with regards to Lakon ships, but have never managed to make up a rhyme for it.

Buck Nakkid used to do a series of very good advertisements on Hutton Orbital Radio expounding the virtues of the Lakon brand. However, their supreme virtue, the view from the cockpit, he never mentioned. If you want to actually see the galaxy then fly a Lakon.

If it's not a Lakon, don't get back on.

If you like bacon, come fly a Lakon.

I dunno how to even pronounce Lakon!:S

Ahoy CMDRs!

Gave my new Cobra MkIII a spin, and wow does it spin! It feels like a huge upgrade from my Adder and inspired me to bolder acts of piracy. I sprang heists on a Private Courier carrying antiquities, and a Krait Phantom who alas didn't comply with my demands. It's the first time I've had to follow up on my threats, but a pirate must make good on his promises. You can watch these and my other adventures by clicking my sig, if you like that sort of thing!

Currently hunting ELWs, although just a mere 2300LY from SOL.

Turns out there's quite a few - but so far nothing untagged :p
On my next run, I'll have to move out 1000LY more I guess.

Still confident I should be able to find something untagged in this Sector and I'm running my own, patented ultra-dense Exploration Matrix. If it's there - I'll find it :)
