Real World Theme Parks What annoys you when queueing for a ride?

I recently encountered a reverse-queue-line-jumper [tongue]

When i notice someone who is que jumping on me i always (politely) tell them to dont jump the line and move back.
But every now and then you're in a really wide queue line and when you don't pay attention you easily move forward too fast or people are moving from your back to your front.

Last week this situation happened, a guy and a girl were behind me but were very busy watching the scene and talking and stuff. After a few minutes they were in front of me because they weren't really paying attention in this wide queue line. I decided to not say anything... When people do it on purpose, SURE i will say something but in this case i was pretty sure they were just talking and didn't even know they were cutting the line.

After like 5 minutes the guy turned around, saw my face and i heard him whisper to his girlfriend "didn't we start this line -behind- that guy?" She confirmed, and he did appologize and told me to move in front of him. I just laughed and told him it was okay and not to worry about it. for the remaining of the 30+ minute waiting line we had some nice conversations and it ended up being a very pleasant conversation. Stupid little things like this can really make my day, people appologizing for something they did, and ending up in a nice conversation to kill time.

My lovely queue experience almost ended up with a fight, but ultimately ended with watching this group of people get escorted out of the park.

It's opening day for Gold Striker and I just arrived at the park later in the afternoon (had to work) to meet up with my friends. We got in the 90 minute wait and as we were on the final stretch of queue, this obnoxious girl cuts up through and stops in the middle of our large-ish group. I was ahead of her so I told the rest of the group to come on up with me, that somebody decided to cut us in line.

Next thing I know every few minutes I see the rest of this girl's group "catching up." Getting fed up I (mistakenly) decided that I wasn't moving anywhere. With that said, this guy bigger than me shoves me aside and threatens that he's gonna **** me up. Finally as we approach the station, I happened to catch a worker heading up the "Fast Lane" stairs and informed him of the cutters. The cutters literally cut everyone in line right up to the station. They were seated and locked in the train. We thought that they were going to get away with it until we realized they weren't dispatching the train. They waited for security to arrive and then released the restraints so they can kick the guys off the ride and kindly lead them to the park's exit. Santa Clara PD was waiting outside the gate to help them leave the park property. The entire station and part of the queue behind that could see the action cheered.

I love this. i used to work at barry island Pleasure Park (UK). We used to get a few people causing issues. We always offered them a free ride on Evolution ride (This ride has now been removed :( ) We locked the trouble makers into the ride. Tipped the cras back so they could not be abuisve to guests and waited for the Police. Worked everytime. They always fell for the free ride trick lol

The only thing that seriously annoys me are the people who try to bring their little kids onto a rollercoaster, completely ignoring the height limits. Then spend around five minutes debating the staff for the ride so that their little kid can get onto said coaster (ultimately not being allowed on), causing quite the delay. [sad]

I saw someone at Disney World the other week who actually asked to speak to a manager because his daughter was too small to ride Splash Mountain. Then they both blocked the whole entrance until the manager arrived. I don't know what the manager was going to do about it... Put her on a stretching table? [uhh]

Yes, those parents... Thinking their offsprings are the best thing that has been bestowed upon the world for the whole eternity. ;)

Whenever you wait 3 hours and the ride breaks down.. RIP! Also whenever somebody starts a conversation with me and I am really shy so I don't talk and then they get mad.

Smoking people.
It was the worst in France (Park Asterix). Waiting in line there felt like being in some really sleezy bar. Even my clothes smelled after that day. Really ruined the experience.

This although it's annoying does not bother me as most parks give out a ticket for fast track on another ride. If they don't then it really annoys me lol

I usually get Fast Lanes / Fast Passes. But whenever me and my sister go we don't get them for some reason.. xD

What also sucks is that it is pretty much the same effect as smoking, it sucks if you try to stay away from that stuff.

Three hours? Really? How? Where? Tell me of this Park with Abysmal throughput. I will send for Roland Mack to fix them up. He'll tell 'em ;)

The que itself annoys me most?

I hate waiting forever.
Never visit theme parks on public holidays etc, it's a waste of time...
Waiting hours for a 2 minute ride just sucks...

Which in part is why I want entry/exit only stations etc in PC, as I can't stand the clogging up of the que...
I prefer rides to run efficient and at capacity with the smallest que possible...

Slow ride operations.
When im standing in the queue and i note that they aren't running on full capacity on busy days (1 instead of 2 trains for example)

When I worked in an amusement park as a ride operator, I would also sometimes have to check wristbands/tickets and height at the queue entrance (like in PC). I have had to call security for queue jumpers, people pretending the couldn't speak English and barging past to get on free, people begging to get on free, then getting angry when I wouldn't let them, some guests racially abusing some poor family. Plus once I had a man trying to convince me it would be OK for his 16 year old pregnant daughter to go on a quite high chair swing ride that had warnings on the sign about pregnancy. When I said it wasn't a good idea, he said she had been on the drop tower ride. [woah]
