Bought Elite for Oculus Rift and did not regret it, but i wish they would fix all the issues with it like judder etc. Even top end cards judder.
Hope it gets sorted soon.. canny play like this.

I have just used anaglyphic mode 3d (experimental) built in game. 3d is the cockpit as far as the first vertical line that appear in SC. Beyond that the background seems completely flat. (I must add that I know that colour mess up is not present in either OR nor with a proper 3d display. Its just an issue with anaglyphic). Is that what u see in OR? If so then OR is like a proper 3d TV with glasses and head tracking? I am very close to buying OR, but if its all I can get from it (- I won't be able to see surroundings in my living room) then I must reconsider spending approx 300 quid on the toy.

Anyone else had performance issues since the last update?

Before the update I could fly about in space with no judder at all, space ports of course introduced some judder but I could live with that.

Since the update, in particular last night, I found I had random judder in space as well and at odd times when my controls would lock up.

Anyone else notice this?

Glasses / movie 3D is more like a 'cheat' and doesn't give proper depth. I have a recollection of reading an article which explained that anaglyph 3D has a limited number of depth planes, or something.

Rift 3D is 'true' 3D. It's mimicking as closely as possible what your eyes would see in reality.

It's amazing. I can't play Elite without it, now.

I've read that three times but still can't work out what you're asking. OR/VR is what it is, what further description is needed?

Btw, you can always sell it and get your money back so there's zero risk.

Hmmm a little concerned here. I used Pay Pal to pay for mine and the money came out my bank account on the same day of purchase.....the message above implies it should not until its about to be shipped?

I mean all circled in red is seems to have dimmension but all further than the vertical line(white) seems like to be 5 meters away 2d wall. Cant really describe it until u use cyan/red glasses/ Think my screenshot should show u how it works.

Basically it looks like 3d cockpit with the 3d roof bars then 5 meters of nothing then a flat wall with Eranin and background stars.

Edit: I mean that the vertical SC line i have circled in white is the farthest thing that seems to have deepness. "Behind it" theres like a gap and then a flat, 2d background. I just wonder if its the same in OR. .

When we talk about 3D we generally are talking about the paralax of the image (the difference of between the right and left eye).
Look at a close object (within a couple of meters), now alternate closing each eye, notice how the view changes, now look at a distant object, say 20 meters, and do the same, notice the difference is minimal.
