^ Your RAM is sitting on the minimum. You should be able to play it on like 720p resolution LOW everything settings. Your CPU clock speed is on the low side too. An i7 quad core (not dual core) processor which with a clock speed of 3.5Ghz or better would do a better job since this game is CPU intensive especially with the AI. GTX 840 desktop version does better than the mobile version GTX 840M will found on laptops.
My white HP 15-ab222tx laptop has similar specs to yours.
6th gen Intel Core i5-6200U 2.3Ghz with turbo boost to 2.7Ghz
AMD R7 M360 2GB + Intel HD 520
8GB DDR3L RAM
My laptop with Intel HD 520 can only play this game in 1920x1080 Low everything settings at 1-2fps. The AMD mobile GPU can do better, but not by much. Windows 10 Task Manager says my i5 processor is maxed out throughout gameplay. But on my desktop, my i7 is only 82-87% maxed out so quad core i7 and i5 CPU's (or equivalent) with a high clock speed (eg. 3.5Ghz and above) would do a better job.
This game is a masterpiece. It has a lot of stuff in it. The better your hardware PC is, the more prettier and smoother your gameplay experience will be. I don't imagine the final game PC requirements will be much different to what it is now. As I read from gamedebate.com, google's first result when searching for planet coaster system requirements, it said this :
"With that said, these system requirements are far more demanding than your typical tycoon game. That's probably because Planet Coaster isn't your typical game, and you can see from the various footage and screenshots released that it's packed with detail and has massive environments. As such, the minimum requirements are fairly steep for a management game, but compared to the AAA blockbusters out there they're a walk in the (theme park)."
