Is April Update version 3.4?

Just for the sake of clarity - I can't find any official info in that matter - is April Update officialy 3.4 version of the game? I ask because everywhere that it was possible to check - ingame, in game files, in patch notes - there is now no version number at all.
I know its not important but it would also be interesting to know why is ED vesion number absent this time?

I have a hard time seeing any valid reasons for adopting a non-numeric versions system..

There was always confusion as per minor updates naming. I wonder if they consider April Update a minor one so they are undecided about the number same as earlier...

The main problem seems to me to be that they'll eventually run out of months... not to mention locking themselves out of ever updating the game in a future month of April.

I wonder if the issue is that the current set of updates is internally conceptually part of the Next Big Thing update in late 2020, so it can't be called 3.4 (because that's the number of Beyond), but also can't be called 4.0 (because there's nothing "new major version" about this bit of it), and calling it 4.-4 (or similar) would cause problems if they guessed the number of minor patches wrong for some reason.

No, they'll be okay. This one is 3.April, so they could have a future 4.April and be fine. It just means that they can't release an update in April 2020.
