New core roid color

So i had a 2.5h session deep core mining today, and first thing ive noticed is that one roid flashed slightly green, i thought it was some kind of a graphical error or so...
But an hour later I found one and it looked like this:

I pulsed it several times, it just flashed black/yellow as usual, then green just for ONE second, and then highly red/orange. Medium content. Opals.
Can FDEV confirm changes or is it just extremely rare?
Anyone got that one to see pre-patch?

Went out for some cores today and had none of them look green. In fact, I am still not certain the colors of a rock even mean anything other than it containing some kind of new mining resources.
Its the shape, there are just 2, then the bright yellow color combined with black pattern IN the roid (the black outline only doesnt count).
If you get close enough it doesnt flash anymore but glows bright orange/red. That is a core one, 100%. There are few doing the same thing, but they dont have a black pattern also the shape is wrong. Its still a pain looking for them, even with that info, they just spawn rarely.
Before patch I did around 30 hours of core mining, i never seen green. It was consistent with black pattern from far, orange/red closer.
The green was nothing special, medium content, a core though.

Have you been twiddling with your gfx settings to mitigate the frame-rate issues?

I sometimes get core-roids that reflect a green or red tinge (not quite that obviously, mind you) instead of glowing pure bright yellow.

i still think the greater different in lighting is in what coloration the shader does due to the inversion aspect, rather than most of the graphics setting. you can see this in play when you have shadows set to ultra and pulse wave a core-bearing rock from its lit side while its partially shadowed by another asteroid. even that shadow setting only makes a real difference in the right circumstances.

another high source of variance is some RNG in the pulse wave shader itself and probably the angle from which you see the rock. if you find a core and sit stationary (and this is more noticeable in the dark part of a ring, in the planet's shadow) and keep pinging it with the pulse wave -- let the glow fade between each ping for this -- you'll see inconsistency. and probably a significant amount of inconsistency from different sides of the rock as it rotates. bottom line is FDev purposely made it obfuscated and subjective.

No not really, everything on Ultra, but I did try the FX Quality on OFF, didnt like the projectiles of the AB -> so I swapped to "Low", no FPS problems.
I moved shadow and bloom quality to mid and blur off. Thats all to it.
Its basically 1:1 same as I had before moving onto an SSD.
But great to see its not my GPU or anything else as "issue", but people really seen it.
