The Unfairness of it all !!

Back in the day for you to get your free Anaconda at Hutton Orbital (Alfa Centauri system) you had to keep awake all trip or risk overshooting it and then do a very long "loop of shame".
Kids this day ? Well they have this Autopilot stuff that lets you sleep all the way and when you awake you'll use your Autodock and get your free Anaconda for no trouble !!!
How can Fdev let this happens is beyond me !

Wait, the free Anaconda is a real thing? I assumed it was just noob-bait to trick us into making that ridiculous supercruise journey....

Or is it, and I"m just falling into the baited trap as I type this....

Someone else go see, I don't want an Anaconda that badly anyway.

Sure, but if you use your autopilot the whole way, you only get a free hauler.

I thought it was free as in not tied down or dispirited :D

I hear that they'll soon nerf the free 'Conda due to the SCA. The mug will stay.

What/how is the nerf to be implemented? Well, the 'Conda achievement reward is to be downgraded to a Keelback with A- rated modules. Additionally, Hutton Orbital is to be permit locked and, to get that permit, you'll need to have harvested 500 lots of polonium.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Terrible injustice indeed.

You only get an Anaconda if you make the journey in a Sidewinder with downsized fuel tank.

Did I read somewhere that autopilot is a lot slower than normal hyperdrive ?
If so how long would it actually take to get to Hutton Orbital on autopilot?

Its a long wayyy to Hutton when she comes! 🚒
The very very funny thing about the free Anaconda trick is, in the 90 minutes it takes to fly to Hutton Orbital to get one, is you could have mined enough VOs for two Anaconda's. 😁
Haven't tried the VO thang.
I don't believe in shield boosters. Too many things make the game too easy, especially engineering.

I'll be in Alpha Centauri in a few minutes but can't promise that I don't get bored after a couple of more minutes...

Ok, I started precisely at 2200 galactic standard time. Does anyone know if the journal makes an entry for SC dropout and if it's also in galactic standard or local time? Just in case I don't want to be awake all night and keep the PC running...

Survival forces companies to dumb down their games. As a newcomer to this “dad’s game” I won’t complain. I’ll take the dumbing down where it’s to be had, because the game is a extensive exercise in humility and frustration. I mean, fun, fun FUN! Nothing but rainbows and unicorns here!

It's not dumbing down at all though. What's dumb is to sit in front of your monitor for 30 minutes, make minor course adjustments and flick the throttle to 75% when the ETA reaches 7 seconds. It never was and never will be engaging gameplay*. It's not even difficult. I, for one, welcome our new SCA overlords.

* That doesn't mean I am against boring and long SC travel times, it immensely helps realising the scale of the game and galaxy!

I could only like this once but it's a long "like".
