PvP Gankers in Fleetcomm at Beagle Point

Over the years, I've posted this video when it comes to this.

And yet by some sort of anomaly, they cant figure out they outnumber us griefers and gankers/PVPers whatever a million to one.

All they gotta do is take back open for themselves. Sure they get invaded. But when will open ever get invaded?

I dont think they have the testicular fortitude :)

With a little engineering, and I mean very little and some thought. They not only do they out number us, but could act as the police themselves.

I never understood the crying about this topic. When all they gotta do is show a little action and stand up for themselves in game on their end.

People that don't like PVP don't want to PVP - you're welcome.

Ask the folks who got destroyed at Beagle Point if it matters.

It doesn't. They all got restored and got their data back, and got put back with the expedition. Go read the thread.

Oh, and this from the organizer himself.

That pretty much sums it up. The only people who think its a big deal are people on this forum desperately trying to make out to be one.

Until Elite gets a proper PvE mode (which I think is inevitable at some point), maybe Frontier should take note and make restoring people who died in a Pg to other players into an automatic restore process. The ganker gets his kill, the victim clicks a button and is back as if nothing ever happened. Cuts out the middleman. Everyone wins :) Pg only though, I don't suggest anything of the sort for Open.

Do you have a link the thread? Or what exactly do I search for? Just looking to save myself a minute if I can.

Regarding your idea, my gut reaction is, "I can't really find a problem with that." House rules are house rules, you know? Making PG the de facto "PvE Only" mode would probably make a lot of people happy, keep Open it's unique and ridiculous self, and have minimal impact on what goes on with BGS anyway. Not sure it would be ideal for Powerplay, but I wouldn't really want to dive into that here.

Thanks!

goes to read thread

"Happy to join any Open revenge posse that might arise once we all get back."

AND PEOPLE DON'T WANT GANKING IN PGS?! Think of the promise the above sentence contains!

Ugh, y'all gonna drive me to early retirement at this rate.

Let's review.

This thread is about folks getting destroyed at Beagle Point. Apparently this happened in both Open Play and Private Group. Ziggy and I got on a discussion regarding creating a more secure and fun environment for DW3. He and I have very different philosophies on how to handle that. His, best I can tell, is don't worry about it the way it was handled this time around is just fine. Mine is more along the lines of having a laugh and getting good with flying and outfitting so you can't be destroyed in Open or Private Group unless you want to be. We've naturally fallen into a tangent about what sort of challenge we like to see in games and whether that's worthwhile.

Then you brought up how sitting on a beach is easy. Um, well, yeah. Of course it is?

I like sipping tea. Very easy and worthwhile. However, that's not really a game, yeah?

Memory like a goldfish... I was responding specifically to your blanket statement: "Challenge is crucial to any worthwhile experience."

No, it isn't. No matter what recreational pursuit we're talking about - relaxing with a cup of tea, a day at the beach, playing a video game... some people on these forums just don't seem to understand a pretty basic, fundamental truth... people are different. Because of this, people will play ED differently and want/expect different things - from a constant challenge to a relaxing cruise - and why shouldn't this game cater to as many experiences as possible?

FTR, I'm nearing Beagle Point, in a fully G5 MkII outfitted with completely unnecessary triple APAs and dual ImpHammers. I am, however, capable of understanding, accepting, and respecting the breadth of different approaches people have to playing ED - so I have no intention of using my weapons or denegrating how other people choose to spend their recreational time in a video game.

Context is king, friend.

We're talking about a game on a forum for the developer of said game. You wanna talk about tea and the beach and whatever as if it's relevant to the conversation hit up the Off Topic Thread.

Your all caps conclusion is indeed the right one. People don't want ganking in a PvE PG.
Thank you. So much ❤

And yet, when it happens, it may inspire the kind of game play you can't get without it. Look, fact of the matter is our opinions are worlds apart. But here's one thing:

1) Pilot flies around in a PG and nothing bad happens to him.
2) Pilot flies around in a PG, gets destroyed by a villain, swears vengeance and takes him down Wyatt Earp style.

Number two is better. Full stop. :)

#2 would be better if the bad guy gets an additional 10% asset fine.
I read that someplace.
