I have the impression Frontier developers are tired of working at this game

Is that what's causing it?

First time I looked at the Nav HUD, after the update, I got this but I haven't seen it since.
I wasn't sure if it was one of those bugs which only appears once and then fixes itself, or is specific to one ship, or something.

If it does just screw-up on the last jump, it's not really a big deal (although it'd be nice to get it fixed) 'cos you can see your destination on your canopy HUD.
Yes, it's just the last jump, where it says "next" rather than the amount of remaining jumps. As you say, minor issue, hopefully it gets fixed with the next update.

c'mon give it a break with flaming. How much is detailed is subjective so we will never reach a conclusion. What we can talk about is how much the devs were careful in not introducing these apparently small issues years ago and how they do not care much now.
Nope, not really. I see that you only joined the forums 2 years ago, so you probably missed several similar minor issues.

I disagree, bugs as the ones we are seeing lately are not so glaringly careless as in the past.

I think you should go through the forums and check the threads that have been created after each patch. Every single one has introduced new bugs. There are minor ship model issues that have been there forever.

Maybe a AMd v nvidia issue. I remember the guardian sites when they first appear, I couldn't visit all because my AMD gpu put the obs underground. Nvidia was fine at the same time

The jumps remaining is showing fine my screen

Might appear only on some ship since the UI is scaled differently per ship.
I agree, it is not a big deal. It is not the UI issue in itself, is the mentality which causes it I am discussing.

I dunno.

I can be as critical as anybody when it's warranted but I think it's understandable that something like this could be missed if it only shows up on specific ships, under specific circumstances.

What I actually meant, though, was that it's not a big deal if it only shows up at your final jump - because you can establish that it IS your final jump by looking out the window and seeing your destination ahead of you.

When it happened to me I was flying a Vulture with a 2A fuel-scoop and a G5-overcharged PP and I was in the middle of a 140Ly trip so I was REALLY interested in knowing how many jumps I had remaining.
If it'd been an ongoing thing I certainly would have considered it a "big deal".
As it was, I guess I was only one jump away from my destination and I've never seen it again.

tell that to the current fss bug or the previous one with the module priority.
getting new or even older bugs in with a bug-fix patch, it's starting to get beyond wrong.

I think its spookier that frontier has broken revision control. Stuff like the fss zoom out going back to the to level center body instead of staying put is the scary stuff. It means their code is so bad revision control is impossible, or the developer responsible had no interest in merging their code correctly. Or something in that league because source code management is core to all software process.

If you don't want to get technical though, current quality probably reflects that frontier is going to earn so much less from microtransactions and expansions than they are from a new release, mainstream genre title. Its a shame because this sort overall shakiness with elite has turned me of the ship skins.. i used to get one every week or so just because (and i guess i have completely got everything i need for 2.5 accounts.. as a customer of duplicates there's nothing you can whitewave away about money).

Any time you change something you're going to introduce bugs, that's software for you, so some degree of tolerance for them is necessary, but it does raise eyebrows when obvious things are missed, especially if it's something new you've put in that doesn't work all the time - in this case if it goes wrong on every ship for everyone that shows a pretty poor level of testing, and that's sloppy. If it happens only on some ships for some people, well, that's one of those things. The 10cr restock bug was very sloppy though. It obviously isn't gamebreaking but it is a little concerning.

It's only the final jump, it uses a different format as far as I can see.

It seems to work fine for many people though. Me, for example. So perhaps it just didn't happen when testing?
