Why no Thargoid Tech?

Thargoid tech is a nice idea and has a huge scope for varying gameplay, but considering from an NPCs point of view that my ships are already something out of nightmares that should never have been unleashed upon the galaxy (just like any other player who has unlocked more than a couple of engineers), some rebalancing is going to be needed or those elite pirate assassinations are going to be 10 second point, click, kill jobs.

Thinking about it, this is probably why after all the work to get guardian tech, you don't have anything that is any better at killing anything other than thargoids.

They are already point click kill jobs, naff all an NPC can throw at you can take out an engineered 'vette.

Problem is to allow the organic tech of Thargoids interface with the anorganic tech we use. I guess one could apply some concepts of cybertechnology to this, effectively giving anorganic systems organic implants. Inverted cybertech? Could check with the Guardians who were quite advanced with implants and then use their discoveries to apply on Thagoid tech. But: Would Thargoid organics be happy by being connected to our ships with Guardian interfaces?

I hear what you are saying, but we have a material in game, an eningeering component, that I hapd hoped would facilitate such interfaces... "biotech conductors".

Well I was going to make a comment on not making things worse, but then my Cutter was interdicted by an elite Anaconda whilst I was carrying 794t of cargo and it was the Anaconda that went boom. That would seem to make that argument invalid.

However, coming at this from a different angle there is probably scope for other things like making covas more interactive or the technology bring used to boost ships as a whole. I think we're probably at saturation point with tech brokers right now (improvement of already existing modules aside). Still, as I've poleaxed my own argument I'll let everyone carry on.

Thargoid tech is in itself game-breaking, awful to use from a player point of view, since their weapons bypass shields to damage a Ship's hull. You would meet another brand of grievers in open, and new metas that would make shields obsolete in pvp.

I want that tractor beam so I don't have to clart on with scooping space junk for engineers.
Just make it so you have to power down weapons or shields for it to work or somesuch.
Beats hanging around for limpets to do their job.

Just thinking about the next community goal and all the Guardian tech we have adapted....

After all the data and stuffs collected from the Thargoids, how come we have not adapted any of their tech?

Just wondered...I mean i'd like to have their tractor beam for starters :)

We aren’t good enough at bioengineering?

Something is coming because in the first day after the April update launch I did see a Xeno material trader on the galactic map as a services option, but it was pulled from the game very quickly. Didn't think to get a screen shot as I thought it was meant to be that way until it was redacted. Anyway you'll see it eventually in game when FDev ready for it.

Can you tell this to our hired crew? You know, the ones that blow up in their ships...
They re-spawn also, though it takes a bit for them to get back to work. I lost a crew member when I did something stupid and got destroyed. In or about a week, she was available again. Thinking she was gone forever, hired someone to take here place. When I saw she was looking for a job again. I fired the dude immediately and hired her back. In addition to being an quality fighter pilot, she's HOT.

I believe that all of the stations that got attacked by Thargoids were performing research on Thargoid Technology, hence why we haven't been able to reverse engineer their techology yet.

That would make an interesting Intersteller Initiative, defend and protect a research station from incoming attacking Thargoids. The Thargoids could come in waves at random times so one doesn't know when the next one will come, which would build tension whilst waiting. If we leave the station unprotected, then we lose the station.
