Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Hm. Trying to plot a route from Trapezium Sector AF-Z c10 to Epsilon Orionis. I have a current range of 36 and can boost to level III, but the game won't plot a route. Do I just not have long enough legs?

EDIT: EDDiscovery routes it, but through permitted systems. Damnit! I can't complete my tour! How does one get a permit?

if you get a bounty cr on you and landed at station, and pay them, you still seem to get lobbed into jail.?
Yes, you are. You can pay fines at the station, but bounties will jail you. You need to find Interstellar Factors (IF), check that your notoriety decayed to 0 (wait, if it is not) and pay your bounties to IF. This is the only way to avoid jail and pay the debts. Here is a bit outdated but still useful article: https://elite-dangerous.fandom.com/wiki/Interstellar_Factors

There are several areas that are permit-locked (for future story use by Frontier) that create a kind of a "no-fly zone" bubbles.
Getting through (well, around them) them isn't about jump range but patience. The route planner won't help you here as it always follows the straight path. You have to help it out by plotting only short routes (a couple of jumps) and/or going "up" or "down" from the galaxy main plane. These areas are usually a couple hundred lightyears wide and high.
So try plotting your route up or down 200-300 LY and then see if the route plotter can find its bearing from there.

Cool thanks!

Testing various mechanisms I've been meaning to get around to for a while (sympathetic detonations of muntions that deal splash damage, how force shell impulse stacks since 2.1.03 introduced caps/deminishing returns, etc) and unlocking my CMDR's first Guardian modules.

Also, relearning the FDL, Mamba, and Viper.

Gaaahk! Question was directed at Speedcuffs and his slightly dodgy modules.Thought we might be able to barter. It's going to be a while before i get any guardian stuff,I'm travelling in the opposite direction.
Lol, it's basically C and D rated stuff.
Can't remember the stations, one was planetary in Colonia system.

Currently throwing mats at the Colonia engineers to try and help get their levels up.

They don't need help. They levelled up already. I'm talking something a bit more exotic.
I'm always on the lookout for novelty items, souvenirs, trinkets, that kind of thing. :giggle:

Phongsalt Dibbler, purveyor of exotic merchandise.('inna bun'). :D

Funny you should mention fine dining. When the 'wedding of the millenium' got cancelled at the last minute last year, they auctioned off loads of stuff going at knock down prices.
Anyway, the upshot was i got a crate of quality cutlery for a song.So if you're ever in need of a clusterfork, you know where to find me.:p

just hunting the engineers at the moment unlocked 3. they are the easy ones.
Farseer, murtuuk , and tod mcquinn

tested the theory that I am super god and here the result. For taking on a defense turret.

Boom

I think I need to re adjust my strategy just ever so slightly[/SPOILER]
Also is it possible to get the thargoids weapons.and to take out a defense turrent

I got a new joystick. My trusty Thrustmaster T16000 developed a drift problem so I was going to replace it with a new one, but the non-HOTAS version is currently on backorder for some reason, and I don't want to pay extra for a throttle I won't use. I tried the HOTAS last time and just never did like using the throttle.

Anyway, I opted for a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. It was pretty cheap. I wasn't expecting much. But it's actually pretty good. The action is smooth, not too much play in it, and it sits steady on its base. The stick is kind of narrow, though, and not super comfortable. It has enough buttons for me and they all work.

I'll have to see how it holds up over time, but I'm happy with it so far.

Here's 2 minutes of me testing it out. Because who wouldn't want to watch me do that? ;)

On the way back from Colonia.
Was going to do a speed run back and time it, but... distracted again!

Current route:
Colonia.
Orion-Cygnus Arm.
Temple.
Vulcan gate.
Elysian Shore.
Errant Marches.
The Formidine Rift.

Once I hit The Formidine, I'll have a rethink. Might be some interesting stuff out there.

been messing around with engineering. 4 rapid fire packhounds on a dropship is exactly as fun as it sounds, but I know I'm going to have to grind out synth mats because whoa mama.
High-caps are more practical but nowhere near as fun.

I'm feeling the need for a new ship. Don't know which one and I can't justify it nor do I need it - I just want one. :D

In the meantime, I'm missing the ability to properly explore. It looks like a recognised bug and a lot of folk seem to be hit by it. Also, it seems to only affect system bodies a good distance away from the entry point - there is a theory it's stuff > 100ls away. Anyway, we'll see if FD can put something in place soon.

And so, profit calls. Ahh, the sweet smell of capitalism at its hoary finest.

Right now, back in the bubble, refited my 800 million Federal Corvette PVE build to be able to explore also, with 30Ly range, will start on the engenieers again, to unlock the ones missing to really get this ship to the next level, and them im gonna start a exploration project around the bubble only with some friends.
