Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I will begin my trip today.
Good luck, commander (y). I'm currently out westwards about 10kly from Sol.

One tip: be very cautious about picking up cargo. Your most valuable stuff will be your scan data; cargo is unlikely to be worth more than a tiny fraction but will still attract the attention of those with evil intent when you head back to the bubble. Unless you're very confident about escaping interdiction, I wouldn't risk it.

Commander,
would you be kind enough to post a pic of your ( mining Krait) fire group ? Am trying to sort out where to assign to make things as simple as possible, seeing yours since I'm also flying a Krait would be very helpful.

I'm using the Krait MKII as my mining ship, too. I'll try to answer your questions.

Have fun and feel free to ask more questions. :)

My xbox commander is still on his DW2 outward (cant get to the tv whilst extension being built), reckon he will likely be back next year!
Cmdr No.1 tried fighting Thargoids, got it all wrong and cost a packet in shiny ships! But still turning up to CQC to try and 'git gud' (as apparently the kids say).
Other than that finishing an LNER A3 and a P2 in O gauge, brass big beauties...for any railway nerds out there!

Other than being for the wrong company nice locos. I am from an LMS family so feel obliged to prefer things like the Coronation Scot and Princess Elizabeth for the large locos and black 5s for general work.

Currently I am trying to relearn my mining skills, the one that has degraded the most is my ability to spot fissured rocks.

I don't have a pic, but I can describe what I have on each firegroup
*Pulse Wave Scanner and Prospector Limpets
*Seismic Charge and Collector Limpets
*Abrasion Blaster and Collector Limpets
*Discovery Scanner and Detailed Surface Scanner
*Weapons

I was out mining. A lone pirate decided to come after me, despite the fact that I was in a well-armed Krait MKII with a fighter flying beside me. He was in an Eagle! You'd think he would have turned tail and left me alone. But noooo.... :p

Thanks to some sage advice, today I will mostly be changing my 'Conda's MCs for cannons and getting them engineered.

When I think back to when I used to avoid the fighting aspect of ED... I have eaten so many hats.

Random thought: I wonder if David Braben and Ian Bell play this game...

Here's another photologue. Can anyone tell me why I'm no longer being notified of posts in other threads I'm "watching?"

The thread notification thing seems entirely random. I often get times when threads I am “watching” don’t generate alerts when responded to, as well, but I have never yet worked out the pattern behind it. Some of them just seem to stop working one day.

I don’t trust the alerts list at all!

Morning!

Hah! Actually no, just a touch of insomnia but, now you mention it...

I was up to watch it over the fields from the spare room window, it is an unusually calm and clear day for once. Which is more than I can say for the time I actually went to Stonehenge, when a thick blanket of cloud obscured the sunrise, though the rest of the day turned out fine. ;)

Stonehenge... that's on my bucket list of places to go. Worth a visit?

Yes, it’s worth going to see at least once, though go on a calm day; the wind can be bitter and strong blowing across the Plain, even in summer! I actually think that Avebury is far more impressive, though it doesn’t have the iconic “Pi” shape sarsen stones, and there isn’t the scope for some amusement at thinking about the Spinal Tap scene :) It would be possible to do both in the same day, which is worth thinking about.

I can save you a group

Seismic Charge and Abrasion+Collector

A short press will launch a limpet once the roid has popped. This has the benefit of keeping max limpets at work without you having to keep an eye out for when they expire or suicide.

I have been past Stonehenge a couple of times but not stopped due to horizontal rain and time pressure, Avebury is good and the ditches are impressive best of all there is a nice pub in the middle.

I was somewhat puzzled by the sunrise and Stonehenge references but eventually realisation dawned .

Just logged an undiscovered ELW. Been so long since I found one I can't actually remember when that was. Generally, this leg of the trip has been productive beyond the opportunity for mats gathering - half a dozen WWs, two AWs, and at least two THMCs, all undiscovered. Have about 250 jumps to home!
