Interesting point of view from a long time ED Streamer on Fleet Carriers

It's the same as ever. My opinion is the ultimate truth, different opinions don't know what they're talking about, yadda-yadda....
You mean you disagree and don't think that their opinion is the ultimate truth? (Especially whn it's all rooted in a mistake they made?) How dare you sir! Typical of this toxic community!!! ;)

They only bring up the BGS to have something to argue about, nobody actually believes they care one iota about it. Or does anyone thinks the video author is right now ferrying passengers or fetching vegetables in his 100% pew-oriented FDL Murderboat to increase the influence of the Pilferers of HIP 74231 favorite faction?

Not even going to dwelve into instancing, that pretty much renders their imagined gameplay (blockades and whatnot) completely impossible, even if there was only Open, as this has already been explained to death.
Just another visionary that knows the intentions of all other players of elite... facepalm

For some players, the debate/discussion around each change or up-date to the game becomes another opportunity to complain about the Elite's obvious design philosophy. Any addition or alteration offers them an audience to promote the single-minded concept of direct-PvP deciding the fate of our simulated galaxy.

While doing so they point out that the majority of players simply don't engage in PvP, and lobby against it becoming too central to the game. At the same time the PvP-centric absorb FD's comments on their intention for the games mechanics and rail against the Modes and much of the central design of the game. Their battle cry is: "Things can change". Which is true, but it begs the question: Why would FD serve the minority and risk alienating the majority?

If there were so many 'Veterans" looking for PvP, the galaxy would be filled with pew-pew. Nothing stops those with experience from contesting other players, except for the option not to. Choice allows people to avoid the undesirable. That is what the basis of the complaint is: "People are not forced to face my single-minded view of this game". In the end it is personal choice, on an individual level, that spoils the game's PvP environment. With that in mind, why change course and risk FD's success?

PvP is just a side show within ED, right from it's inception. PvP is possible, between those that agree to, nothing more. My advice to the PvP-centric is to make the best of it.

You come to an agreed System at an agreed time with the ship of your choosing in open and we can take measurements of said pants
Ah, so your pant's size is dependent on how well you play a part of the game. Not the strength of your argument.

Well, I can save us both a lot of bother, I'm sure you're way better at PvP than I am. And I'm sure that means you're a very big boy. :)

Hot doctor chick in Star Trek?

Dude isn't sane.

Forget that last remark.

I guess you would not dare to risk a re-buy either, talking is where all your skills are. Am I wrong?

A re-buy is nothing. But, I ask, What would be the point? Would you or I winning the contest make a difference to this debate, or just your bruised sensibilities? If I can help you see the underlying points here I would happily blast away. But, we both know our individual prowess has no bearing on the discussion. Does that satisfy you, or are you still looking for an ego boost?

If I have to chose between skill in playing a game, and skill in formulating a decent argument, I'd chose the argument every day of the week, and twice in October. I have been quite skilled in enoying Elite for quite some time though :)

And for what it's worth, I fly a humble cheap T-6 which has been shot down many a times in Open. It's not the rebuy that bothers me, it's the futility of going through the process. (because of the "either" you posted.)

I'm in no need for any ego boost, trust me. I am positive I know more about this game and it's mechanics more than someone that shy away from a challenge like this. That was pretty much the point of it.

Ok. I am not daunted by your ego. How will this happen?

I would even take the challenge of meeting you with me in a T6 and you in whatever ship you choose. I would escape being killed by you any time.

I'll be on at 7utc in LHS 3006 at Leonard Nemoy station. it's a truce system, nobody should attack you there in sc. I will match the ship you bring unless it's a total gimmick ship and we do a 1v1.

I am on now, and can't guarantee I can be on @ 7:00 utc. I can find LHS 3006 easy enough. I agreed to this farce, let's get it done.

P.S. I am in an Alliance Chieftain.
