Fully calculated list of ARX per dollar/euro/pound for all ARX packs

Hey y’all. Now that the amount of ARX you get in each pack has been clarified, I got curious about just how many ARX we get for each dollar spent, so I went ahead and calculated it for all 3 advertised currencies and thought I'd share the results: (Updated to reflect the pricing changes from 17/09, thank you @Factabulous for making me aware!)

ARX per Dollar (US):

5000 ARX for $3.99 = 1250 ARX per dollar
8820 ARX for $6.99 = 1260 ARX per dollar
17,700 ARX for $12.99 = 1361.5 ARX per dollar
26,800 ARX for $18.99 = 1410.5 ARX per dollar
54,000 ARX for $37.99 = 1421 ARX per dollar (up from 1350)
100,000 ARX for $59.99 = 1666.7 ARX per dollar

ARX per Euro:

5000 ARX for 3.49 EUR = 1428.6 ARX per euro
8820 ARX for 5.99 EUR = 1470 ARX per euro
17,700 ARX for 11.49 EUR = 1539.1 ARX per euro (down from 1609.1)
26,800 ARX for 15.99 EUR = 1675 ARX per euro
54,000 ARX for 29.99 EUR = 1800 ARX per euro (up from 1636.4)
100,000 ARX for 54.99 EUR = 1818.2 ARX per euro

ARX per Pound:

5000 ARX for 2.99 GBP =1666.7 ARX per pound
8820 ARX for 4.99 GBP = 1764 ARX per pound
17,700 ARX for 9.59 GBP = 1843.7 ARX per pound (up from 1770)
26,800 ARX for 12.99 GBP = 2061.5 ARX per pound (up from 1786)
54,000 ARX for 24.99 GBP = 2160 ARX per pound (up from 1800)
100,000 ARX for 44.99 GBP = 2222.2 ARX per pound (up from 2000)

As is typical with most in-game currencies, purchasing a larger pack nets you a better value per dollar, with the largest being the best. However, there's a small outlier in the otherwise progressive trend for both the US Dollar and the Euro: the 54,000 pack (which I've highlighted in red). This pack represents a lower value per dollar than some of the cheaper packs, and thus wouldn't be recommended (in fact, you could obtain the exact same total ARX by buying two of the 17,700 packs, and then grind the remaining 400 in-game and save a couple dollars). Edit: As of the pricing changes on 17/09 this is has been corrected. All ARX packs now have a smooth increasing value curve across all currencies!

Just a little something I thought I'd share. Hope this helps someone out with their purchase!

One should think about the time and power costs too.
If i would play for 20-40 hours every week, than i have a power draw for araound 1,5€ -3€ . How much does cost the lower tier decals and paintjobs?

Power draw is probably just a little bit out of scope given that, presumably, you'd be playing the game anyway so there would be no need to take that into account. The power draw of your PC playing this game is neither going to increase nor decrease with the introduction of ARX.

Since you can 'earn' 0.27EUR / week I don't think people will be putting in massive hours to get them. I kinda hope we can max out in a few hours - many people look at 'free' and not at 'worthwhile'. I reckon there will be many 'power ARX' methods of getting them fast out next week. Thargoid Scav killing is my bet ;)

You are right. If i play the game anyway, it doesnt matter. But if the player want to earn the max ARX, he could play more then usualy and then power costs could be relevant.

I'm just guessing they won't back date this? Only I have a lot of hours in game which might really add up if they would...

Still $7 for a COVAS so I don't really care about the mtx premium currency crap too much. I still want Alix for Faulcon DeLacy. It could have been way worse than this.

Unlike actual currency, any proprietary currency will have "leftover credits" you can't use anywhere, and which end up as pure profit for the company.

So let's say you buy 5000 ARX for $3.99 and use only 3700, then decide you're tired of the game, or get married, die, whatever. Those remaining 1300 ARX will never be used. So you paid $3.99 for 3700, and the accountants at FD report a 33% boost in ARX profit (from you). Multiply that by a certain percentage of the 3 million accounts sold so far and that's serious money.

Just sayin'

What's different about Frontier's model is that the purchasable currency is also earnable in-game. Most games where purchasing currency is an option often use two separate currencies to buy the same things: one you can buy with real world money, and one you can earn in-game. And they typically don't allow any sort of overlap/conversion.

With Frontier's model however, it's all unified. So say you buy the 5,000 ARX package, but only spend 4,300 of it. Now you have 700 ARX left, but the only other thing you might want costs 1000 ARX. Under a more common model, you'd have to buy an entirely new pack of 5,000 if you wanted to make use of that remaining 700. But since the exact same currency is earnable in-game, you can simply earn 300 more ARX in-game (less than one' week's worth) and get that extra cosmetic you wanted, without having to spend anymore real-world money.

This eliminates any problems with leftover amounts of currency going to waste. No matter how much/little is leftover from your initial purchase, eventually you can just earn enough in-game to make use of it somehow, and end up getting more bang for your buck than you would before!

And while we're on the subject of "wasted" money, how many of us over the years bought some of those 6-packs of paint jobs just to get a single color? :p Now that they've been de-coupled, we can buy an individual paint job for 6 different ships for the same price.

I liked it better when the formula was:

I got to work for X hours and make Y dollars per day.

I go home and purchase what I want for real money.

Now you need to work out if it's still bust OP :)

Doubt I'm gonna buy more stuff because of ARX.

Maybe if they actually introduce something worthwhile...

Doubt it

Didn't you quit playing months and months ago? In which case I guess you probably shouldn't buy more cosmetics - unless there's a sale :)
