ED used to immersive, now it's a shop front.

I guess your are the only one for a reason, let me help.. what is next to the STORE button (on the left)

Hmm, I'm not anywhere near a starport so I haven't seen this. But it seems to me all FD need to do is turn it orange with the rest of the buttons.

That said, I don't agree with it being there particularly, it's still better off inside the Livery menu, since that's what it's all to do with.

I don't think it's malicious though, I'm in agreement that FD probably just got over excited about it.

While of course, people are entitled to their opinions, in my opinion the level of triviality of complaints on this forum is reaching an all time high.

Reminds me of the scandal on the Fortnite sub a few weeks ago where people were getting their knickers in a twist about the background colour of an icon.
Well, for me bugs and combat balancing are absolutely trivial. The game changing direction from being a science based space game with strong simulation vibe is not trivial at all for me.
These things are why I play.

It still is a science based space game with a strong simulation vibe, as well as being a game for dogfighting and many other things. The presence of a store icon in a different colour really doesn't change that you know. Ok, maybe you don't like it being there, but its not like it affects the actual game.

FD we get it, the store helps your business and therefore to deliver the game to us, but running business stuff through game menus is a quick way to stop us from enjoying the game which doesn't help your business. A little decorum please, we can find the store in the livery just fine thank you.

Well, you can say its wrong and would prefer to have stuff sold through the website, but its pretty much par for the course these days. Its just amazing FD took so long to catch up with what other games have been doing for years.

One of the big advantages (i think) of having it in-game is being able to see how it will look in game. Everyone has different monitors, settings, graphics cards, drivers, so the website will not necessarily show you how it will look in game for you. But it being in game, being rendered on the same system, means everyone gets to see how it will look for them.

Maybe you recall one of the criticism of the website version was the images didn't look like they do in game, because they were probably taken from dev machines and maybe within the moddeling program they were using then exported.

Remember the complaints about certain paintjobs had mismatched lines or other issues that you couldn't see on the thumbnails, with people buying them and then regretting it. Now they can see before they buy.

But- FD could have made the Arx / livery thing an in game lore company with outrageous ads to match.

But that would require lore building and imagination.

FD, I don't mind you trying to sell things, but why, oh why, is the STORE option, on the main system screen now in bright BLUE ?

As it's the only blue area on the screen It is very distracting. I am now looking for a screen overlay, in traditional orange, to cover it up.
someone at frontier likes blue, they also put the blue analysis mode into a sea of orange, the orange guy left.

Wait until you land on a planet and there's a frontier store market stand on the ground :D

And there's no point in running away, the store megaship will already be in orbit as well.

I wouldn't mind an ARX store in a station that I could walk into, along with stores for all the other services currently on the station menu.
Perhaps FD have plans to remove this menu altogether.

Was wondering where folks were seeing that, then realized it's apparently in the Station Menu ? (far away from any place to dock, so I couldn't check)

If so, that Button really should go, that's super cheap and doesn't belong there.
Main Menu should be the only place that offers it so prominently - and for all I care they can have big ads (similar to the Launcher) there showcasing the newest Cosmetics.
(I was totally okay with the links in Outfitting, which made sense due to preview for Paints)

I love CD Projekt Red. I love that they had the balls to say to Epic they were not going to take their money. I love Markus Persson who was developing Minecraft to work with Occulus Rift until Facebook bought Occulus. I respect these people for standing by their beliefs and not doing something just because everyone else does it.

I used to respect Frontier for the same reason, until they announced virtual currency. I literally exclaimed F F S quite loudly when I read that. Why do I hate Arx so much? I have no issue with Frontier wanting to make a profit from Elite Dangerous, the game has to remain viable, I get that. But don't go ripping off the customers, the players, the very people you want to give you money. By introducing a virtual currency (and don't say "but it was already on consoles so that's ok" no, it's not ok on consoles and it's not ok on PC or mobile or anywhere) Frontier have shown they don't care about you and me what we think. they only care about £/$/Euro. Frontier have shown they are greedy, and I hate greedy people.

At that moment, Frontier lost my respect and any future money from me. I was about to buy Planet Zoo .... Arx is the reason I didn't and won't.

There are so many gamey things that could brake the immersion already in place, I cant believe the tiny shop icon causes the disruption in the force.
