Question about discussing leaks and such.

I had a question about leaks and the like. Is it against the rules to talk about data mines or leaks for planet zoo on the forums? I was on the reddit for planet zoo and I found a post that was interesting when it comes to data mines, but as its not officially revealed, do I not need to talk about it here?

Well the leak concerning JWE was highly discussed in the forums, so I don't think it's against the rules to talk about such things.

However you decide, please make sure to mark your reveals as >spoiler< and don't give the content away in the headline.
Some (including myself) like to be surprised.

And even when it's marked propperly, it's hard not to open the thread ... 😒

Discussing ways and techniques of illegal acquisition of unreleased data or unannounced information is forbidden.
But discussing the leaks themselves counts as speculation and speculation can be fun. :)

FYI, reddit is banned is my country, so can someone please write/copy paste the entire 'leak' here?

"It’s always interesting to see what the folders of a beta game can tell about the real game. Of course most details are removed for the beta, but they left some interesting parts for us to see. These aren’t official releases, but they could spoil some things.

Not all revealed animals are within the beta folders, but next to the animals we can play with, there are also the models of within:
-Aardvark
  • Western Chimpanzee
  • Cheetah
  • Black Wildebeest
They ordered the animals in different folders. Some folders are quite interesting:
  • They have the folder Peccaries (within are the Bairds Tapir and Common Warthog, but no Peccaries (yet?))
  • They have the folder Deers (within are the Gemsbok, Pronghorn, Sable and Springbok, but no Deers (yet?))
  • They have a folder named Big_Cats. Does that mean in the real version there is also a folder named Small_Cats? The cheetah is in the Big_Cats folder
  • They have two separate folders for Birds and Flightless_Birds. The Peafowl are in the birds folder. Does this mean maybe in a later stadium birds can fly?
Next to the Rain Forest exhibits in two different shapes, there are also files for Xeric exhibits in two shapes (named Deep and Shallow). These contains the animal classes Adders, Eastern Brown, Gila Rattlesnake and Hairy Scorpion. The Rain Forest contains also Centipedes and Snails.

There are 6 themes in the beta files. Africa Origins, Core Classic, Core Zoo, New World, India and East Asia. The East Asia theme contains sculptures of the Giant Panda and Japanese Macaque and the New World contains also a sculpture of the bison.

Some names found:
  • Tree scratter feeder @ Giant Panda male (and many more giant panda references)
  • Bison juvenile wet furshake (and several more bison references)
  • Camel female wet furshake (and several more camel references)
  • Nyala juvenile wet furshake (and several more nyala references)
  • Macaque juvenile wet furshake (and several more macaque references)
  • Pangolin preen snow (and several other pangolin references)
  • Flamingo defecate squirt (haha, this would be a lovely animation)
  • Did we have already seen fish-feeders? There are several feeders with fishes, as well Worms meal, Brine Shrimps meal and Bamboo
In zoopedia: (apart from the orders/genus we already know)
  • Order Scolopendromorpha (centipedes)
  • Order Pulmonata (snails)
  • Order Pholidota (pangolins)
  • Order Blattodea (cockroaches or termites)
  • Genus Varecia (ruffed lemurs)
  • Genus Tragelaphus (spiral-horned antelopes)
  • Genus Scolopendra (centipedes)
  • Genus Pseudonaja (brown snakes)
  • Genus Phoenicopterus (flamingos)
  • Genus Manis (pangolins)
  • Genus Macropanesthia (cockroaches)
  • Genus Macaca (macaques)
  • Genus Heloderma (beaded lizards)
  • Genus Goliathus (goliath beetles)
  • Genus Crotalus (pit vipers)
  • Genus Crocuta (hyenas)
  • Genus Camelus (camels)
  • Genus Bitis (vipers)
  • Genus Bison (bisons)
  • Genus Ailuropoda (giant pandas)
  • Genus Achatina (snails)
  • Genus acanthophis (elapid snakes)
There are animal name categories from their home countries. There are also a few categories in which we haven’t seen animals: Arabic, Japanese, Mongolian, Russian

Rides:
  • Monorail
  • River Boat
  • Suspended Gondola
Diseases:
- Nilecrocodilepoxvirus (only affects Nile Crocodiles)

Between all thumbnails of animals that are within the beta, there is one odd one, the Tigon. (A crossbreed between a male tiger and female lioness)

I think there is still a lot to reveal after the beta, but these things are some interesting first little bits they didn’t hide/removed from the beta."

All these animals should be taken as literally confirmed only question could be are all those for the base game or later as DLC. I would say base game, but we will see.

Your spoiler cuts off most of the info, Dez.

Strange, it worked in the preview and I'm sure it worked shortly after posting. 🤨

I'll edit it.

Edit: The "click to expand" button seems to be invisible unless you hover over it. But it should show everything once you click it.
