Fallen Order

Just noticed that Origin Access have added the soon to appear Jedi: Fallen Order to the games vault... pre-load on November 11th and live November 14th for those with Premier access.

Me too.

Origin, isn't that the same as EA access on Xbox?
I've had EA access for a year but it definitely isn't worth it imho, hardly any new titles are added and you get only a couple Euros discount when buying an EA access title.
Origin access is a bit more value for money than EA Access on Xbox...over 100 games in the vault, all new EA releases as deluxe versions with all DLC etc and 3 days before it's on general release. I've got Origin access premier which is around £75 per year...I've had 3 times that with the games from the vault I do play. Even FIFA 20 is £75 for the ultimate edition...Anthem too, not to mention BF V etc.

I had EA access on the Xbox too, in comparison with Origin access, it's not up to much.

Okay, that's probably the reason why EA access only costs 25 euros a year.
I'd gladly pay a bit more if that means we would get more titles.

Basic Origin access is the same price as EA access...but with a lot more for that 25 Euros. Origin access premier has a bit more besides.

Was interesting to find out it's second best selling game on Steam few days ago. It's not even out...people never learn.
Indeed...well, at least I didn't have to buy it or pre-order it to find out I may probably hate it..it can join Anthem in the 'free games I never got around to playing club' if it's complete tosh :)

EA Access. Origin Access. Premier Access. My rear. At least ppl get something for their sub I guess. Looks like a pretty linear corridor shooter to me. With maybe advanced melee mechanics.

Someone commented that the lightsaber fights are suppose to be more than just button mashing (aka. Dark Soulish) but I believe it when I see it.

Saw only but a few fights but it indeed seems to provide some form of advanced gameplay on that side. It was pretty much the only thing that stood out to me.

Available for preload now... with my net connection...I may be able to download it some time before launch

Yup. Preloaded over night.
I'm rather looking forward to this, I have to admit. So far the reviews/previews of the game were rather good.
If EA pulls this off, that will be two awesome singleplayer games in one month (NFS Heat is great) which is unheard of, lately!

Only 48 GB. Sweet :D
Heh, It's funny how an AAA game under 50GB now feels like some kind of a unicorn.

I remember the tapes. Then my first game on a Floppy. It was Theme Hospital which came on, I think, 14 floppies which was HUUUGE! Then first game on a CD. I think my first game on a CD was actually Tie Fighter. Then my first game on two(!) CDs (Jedi Outcast - funny there are two SW games on this list), First DVD (Riven),...
It seems like yesterday and nowadays we throw Gigabytes and Terabytes around like they were nothing and I can't remember the last time I bought a hard copy of a game.
I wonder when are we going to see a first Terabyte game. Flight Simulator 2025, perhaps?

My first one was wing commander on a 386. I remember installing and switching disks the whole night I got it. Good times.

Today publishers should start selling certain games on SSDs preinstalled and ready to take away at your local electronic store imo. :D

EA is not a company that is going to get my money.

I have no say in what any of you do, nor will I act like I have, but do bear in mind that EA is one of the biggest studio killers in the industry and they own so many IP's they will never use again simply due to asorbing all these smaller stuidos.

I'm not saying you're wrong about EA. In fact I fully agree. But I would like to say that attitude like yours doesn't really help. If a game is good, I buy it. If it's not, I don't. It's fair to be cautious when comes to WHO makes/produces the game, of course - some companies earn my purchase based of their reputation automatically, with some I wait for the reviews (not media reviews).
But I think it's important to buy good games, no matter who made them, because if you're going to boycott everything a priori, you're sending a wrong message.

Look at EA, for example - several of their last games totally bombed. Which is a good thing. Because this month they are releasing two singleplayer games with no MTX. One of the games is good, the other one... I'll tell you tomorrow, I guess. But if it's good, I want it to succeed. Because if it succeeds, they will make another one. And cut the crap out of ones they want to succeed, next time.

And besides, when comes to EA right at this moment, considering what has been happening this year and a half, they are not even in the Top 5 of worst companies any more. Much stronger players have appeared.

If you want a company to change, you vote with your wallet. I seriously don't understand why this isnt more widely understood. If everyone was to stop buying anything thats released in a broken buggy mess or straight up ignored the AAA release roster game devs would actually make whole games again, but everyone is now so used to this "Day one patch" concept that they buy in with the thought that it will get better in time. Which it seldom ever does. Boycotting them isnt exactly an issue is it? Moreover I couldnt care less if their bottom line starts suffering because people stop buying thier reproccesed tripe year in year out. Sports games being the most cancerous example.

The dev's themselves shouldnt be made to go without paychecks sure, but quite frankly if youre going to sell your soul to a company like that, I don't really give one single toss wether or not they get paid. Not one single iota.

Take the new COD for example, seemingly it has breathed new life into the franchise and most ont seem to have a bad word to say about it. Do I like shooters? Yes. Will I buy it? Not on your life because the company that made it has a hideous history of trying to sap every single penny out of thier playerbase and then asking for more.

Though Ea are certainly not the top of the dirt pile this year, they have been so anti consumer and so unbeleiveably greedy these last few years that a few months where Blizzard for example, look worse, does not absolve them from ten years of taking the buiscuit out of thier players and customers.

Lastly, young though I might be, I still remember a time where if a development team released a broken product that was buggy or in some cases totally non functional, thier product bombed and so did the company. "But we can fix it laaaaterrrr" is the single most retaded excuse there ever was for releasing a game in a broken state. It's not justifyable not is it consumer friendly. Again. Money first, customer statisfaction second. Any company that trends to that gets nothing off me.
