"Please log technical issues" - but when I go to the ticket page it says "If you're experiencing an issue that is already on the list below, you do not need to submit a ticket for it. Please consult this list before creating a new ticket".

Which is right?

Read known issue list. if you issue is there, you are advised not to report it. However if it's not described there or you aren't sure, report it.

Known issues announcement can be dismissed clicking anywhere on that page to get to report ticket.

Heres another thing.
I strongly recommend NOT TO follow any posts advising you to change system/router/network settings on your computer (like MTU); ive seen many posts where people tell you to do "screwy" commands with windows console etc - DONT DO THAT (at least not without a full backup of your computer).

This problem is clearly on frontiers side and most assuredly everything is allright with your computer and your network.
Moreover, modifying these settings on your system can and probably will cause more problems.

Just wait for Frontier to fix their comm servers ;)

I second that. You should never have to change your MTU, it's pointless to do for any traffic crossing the web. And never drop your firewalls!

are you kidding me? not we who must find a solution is the one who works having taken 60euro have to do it

This.

The known bugs thread does not contain information on this specific problem.

Game loads to the first menu screen.
Server : 54.228.136.5:19364 (UNCONNECTED)
Menu locks up either instantly or within 1 second.
Music still playing in the back ground can move the mouse cursor around but no response from the menu. Ctrl Alt Del to kill the client.

Have you raised a ticket?

Michael

thanks to mr Michail Sergejewitsch Gorbatschow (and a few million east germans) we have a national holiday tomorrow in germany. I guess servers will have alot of work. hope things change untill then

Michael - you can't be serious - can you? This issue is spread over the forum like confetti - 2/3's of your players (according to a poll) are unable to move past the menu. It is exactly the same for all of them. And the log just fills up very fast with the same message - zero letters in the packet, and if not CAD'd will eventually fill up the hard drive it is filling that fast. This IS an MTU issue and has only happened since it was "fixed" - see your release notes. Ah - you must be just pulling our collective legs I'm sure!

Personally (Yepp, that is MY opinion!) I find everything a little too grey. I know not everyone will agree on this, but at its current state ED lacks some contrast here and there and I'd be happy to see 'richer' colors. I am not talking about the HUD elements or the cockpit, but about stations, space, hyperdrive tunnels etc.

Here are two example screenshots taken in Beta 2.02, which show how 'lifeless' the hangar and hyperdriving looks. I remember this being more contrast-heavy in Beta 1.

The ticketing system is how we track bugs, so yes I want to make sure people are reporting bugs in a way that helps us. If it's listed as a known issue then you don't need to report it.
