Have you tried running it on single monitor in fullscreen mode?
Borderless cause me the issue I was on it beforeChange your display mode in your in-game graphics settings. I had issues when set for full-screen, everything worked after I switched it to full-screen borderless.
I had it happen even with out a second monitorIf nobody replies here (I don't have a second monitor so I can't try it out - on my one monitor Alt+Tab out of the game and back in works fine so it's probably a specific problem with dual monitor setup) you can try filing a support ticket. They should be able to either resolve this or at least tell you whether it's a problem with the game or with your setup.
There are some big lag spikes after you change things in habitats, worse with climbing habitats in big zoos. This is caused by the animals having to re-path the walkable area. Does this happen all the time or just when you do certain things?
Almost certainly, I first noticed this in my last zoo, it was a big zoo 6000+ so the game is working pretty hard anyway. I was working orangs focusing on climbing and checking the habitat heatmaps, when i restarted the game and the animal re-pathed its area the game froze completely (heavy lag) for a few seconds. As soon as the heatmap reset the game unfroze. I have done some game dev working with AI and this makes complete sense. AI path finding is pretty complex anyway, having to map three different zone types for multiple animals is pretty complex when your PC is already under load.thanks for posting that, i was wondering, if could have been caused by my gorillas and the climbing area calculation. there in this one zoo, my fps drops from 80 to 1 every 5 to 10 seconds, i like that zoo, but that is just annoying to have this slideshow. odd thing, in another zoo with 5 ape-habitats, everything is fine.
This is interesting. What CPU do you have? I was under impression that Cobra is relatively good at multi-threading its tasks (And AI is getting its own threads) so something like this shouldn't really happenAlmost certainly, I first noticed this in my last zoo, it was a big zoo 6000+ so the game is working pretty hard anyway. what i was talking about hapen at the main menue and in a on of the campain zoo alt tab right after it startedThere are some big lag spikes after you change things in habitats, worse with climbing habitats in big zoos. The other weird thing is zoo layout can make a big difference. My last zoo struggled past 6000 visitors, my new zoo is ok at 7,500. I think there are certain things that can happen in your zoo, such as broken paths etc which cause AI loops and performance to tank.
