I only launch 1 of my 3 accounts from steam (my mistake as I activated it too late to have its own launcher!) So steam stats serve really as an indication rather than hard evidence of success or otherwise. Without other metrics to measure by, it has to serve as an illustration. It has been explained numerous times, also in this thread:
Btw. this argument about steam users is flawed in my humble opinion. When I can choose steam I choose steam for convenience and fret if I can't. All of my gaming friends prefer steam as it's an established gaming library. Of course it's anecdotal evidence, but so is saying that non-steam users are legion. FDev only knows.
- We're still hoping for the kickstarter-promised things, so we're checking on here. Hope dies last.
- Recent carrier commotion again painfully proves (to us at least) that fdev is disconnected from its own game gives us a platform to vent
- we have been told numerous times that "steam charts don't count" by the Whities, so it's karma time.
Hope may die last, indeed, but I'd have thought common-sense would permit a person to not indulge themselves in something that is lacking satisfaction.
My opinion on FC's is at odds with the players who consider their creation 'proves' the developers at out-of-touch with the playerbase, so naturally I wouldn't berate them for introducing a feature that currently I couldn't use anyway as they have been designed for players with huge amounts of credits and nothing to spend them on. Others have their own opinions, which is as it should be.
If there actually is a 10 year plan, we are only half-way, they have another 5 years to introduce any content they have promised to include. Did they actually make solid promises in the kickstarter for content or suggest they would consider inclusion? I missed the opportunity to join in simply because of massive work commitments over a few years helping me lose touch with the gaming scene at the time it was active.
