Will there be a Planet Zoo 2?

Planet Zoo is already a new game?

so we won't be able to see PZ2 for at least 3-4 maybe 5 years. Support for up to 10 years is not possible, even if they continue to support with DLCs. this only applies to the Sims, as other friends say. Yes we will get PZ2 but not now. My guess is that the new PZ begins to appear 4 years later, but it would be very ungrateful to say that now. because we already have a great game. and there are a lot of great DLCs ahead of us to be released.

I don’t think we need one. Just the game expanding via DLC and updates is surely enough.
I agree. As long as we get more than 3 years of support or the DLCs get bigger next year. ^^ We won't get far with the current form of DLCs, when we only get 2-3 years support, in my opinion. And we definately need game changing elements sooner or later to address more player types. I'm extremly happy with the game in it's current state, because I'm a builder (and before the release of the game I never thought I'd say that of myself). But I can see why some player types aren't that happy yet. And I still miss more individualism and different behaviour in the animals. I also agree with some other players, that features that were advertised are missing. (Personality, fur variants). Adding those would already step up this game so much, that it would feel like a PZ2.

I really think that depends on what the Cobra Engine is actually capable of. If certain features prove to be impossible to implement - such as the highly-coveted underwater swimming, or dynamic birds, or even improvements to the pathing system as discussed - then a sequel makes sense. I don't expect one to come at any time soon, of course, as the game as it is doubtless has a good couple of years of life in it.

No matter what, though, I expect we'll see a sequel to Planet Coaster before we see one to Planet Zoo.

If a sequel appears, it will be when this game will become "unsellable" and won't be able to earn money because of its obsolescence.
In some years, when a gamer will search this kind of game, if he choose an other one because of the old graphics of PZ for example, Frontier will think about making a sequel... It will be a big update (mechanics, graphics, data base...) to relaunch the licence and keep a good positiob on the market.
But they don't have interest to do it as long as the game make sells. There is no zoo game all years, the graphics on this kind of game can age well... so imho, if a 2 arrives, it's not before 8 or 9 years

Of course. I mean they could do that for 10 years, not that they should or will. And I agree, 2-3 years is much more possible than 10, even if they will have potential for 7-years-worth of content they will never start working on.
If, as some people sais, the engine can't handle swimming or flying animals, well...I think in 2 years of DLCs Planet Zoo will do and say anything it could.

PC hasn't received a new DLC for almost a year - maybe something is coming. (i know about the console release for summer 2020 but for pc ?)

They have been working on the console edition for almost a year now, I'm pretty confident that the console edition needs a whole lot of optimization to be functional on something like an PS4 or XBox One.

I definitely hope they can reverse engineer this into the pc version, so we can expect future updates/DLC's for it, when the engine is capable of running more content.

If, as some people sais, the engine can't handle swimming or flying animals, well...I think in 2 years of DLCs Planet Zoo will do and say anything it could.

I'm willing to bet a € 50,-, there won't be a PZ2 in 2 years time, and not even in the next 5 years.

As long as there are people like you that are already satisfied they can do whatever they like, for me this game won't have much to say without swimming and flying animals in the next years. I don't say that I won't play no more, but I don't see myself spending money on new animals that would be very similar to the ones we have, I won't find it very exciting. A new rhino? A new kind wolf? A new kind of antelope? It would stop being exciting for me in three years.

People like me? (it is so negative to write something like this).

Maybe "people like you" should read the stuff "people like me" write.
Nowhere I said there was not going to be swimming or flying animals. I only said that I don't expect a PC 2 or PZ 2 anytime soon.
I've seen pigeons fly in Planco and guests tread water. So even the older engine was capable of doing so.

Maybe it is an option for "people like you" to go and try to learn something about a certain developer (Frontier) and their games.

Let me help:

Elite Dangerous (Released December 2014) has been an active game since 2014 with regular updates (not always what people want, but you can never please the mass (also something "people like you" should understand). Wait, 6 years? Wouldn't you expect a ED2 by now? No, because that's not how Frontier works.

Planet Coaster: Released November 2016. Every 3 months we received an update, untill they started working on the Console Edition. After that, I think we can expect more content in the form of DLC's. I'm really not expecting a PC2 anytime soon.

Planet Zoo (Released November 2019). There is a higher chance to receive a console edition in the next 4 years, than a PZ2. That's a no-brainer.

And there are more landanimals than another wolf, rhino or antelope.....

And just to be clear: I would be over the moon with flying AND swimming animals.

Ahahha first of all people like you need to calm down, you are the one who quotes my message first, I only said that IF there won't be some things in the next years I won't spend more money, ("if"), I don't know what is going to be added in the game or what new game is going to be realesed. But you lare pretty sure of what you know since you want to win money out of it, good for you ;)

And can you clarify the money part? What are you accusing me of doing to win money out of it?
O wait, the betting part. I wouldn't mind losing money over it either. I can miss € 50,- every day,

Either way, too soon to talk a sequel.

friends, I don't understand what you're discussing so much, but we're unlikely to see a new PZ game in the next 4 years. PC2 will be released first. and yes PC2 is not far off. Likewise, JWE2 will be released. but so wouldn't it be too ungrateful to speak PZ2 now? There are a lot of DLC packs that we'll get more.

Adding: Do not think that I take sides, but this is exactly the case.

Don't you want to be part of a group with "people like me"? ;)

Than we can call it "People Like Us".

I'd be more than happy to form a group with you on this ;) I guess "people like us" do believe that PZ is still in kind of a development stage and not "finished" and enjoy the journey.
I don't really think Planco will get more DLCs, but if it does and PZ is not eating up all my gaming time, I will absolutely consider jumping on the hype train. For all the people that enjoy theme parks more than zoos, I really hope there will be new things to add.
