Will there be a Planet Zoo 2?

I kinda expected it to be similliar to Europa Universalis 4 and Cities: Skylines. Both games have the same developer and still realease dlc and free patches. That actually improve the game. I think both are completly different now (even in Vanilla) then when they were released.

Must say that the planco news is relatively low at the moment. But thats not weird with a few games coming after that game with simillar target audiences.

Will PZ get a part 2? Big chance if the game is succesfull. Then after a few years, when dlc's arent cutting it anymore, they will look for a future game. Or a competitor will release something a like. I have no idea how succesfull PZ is compared to its targets.

I do think that a game like planco will get a new version sooner. It actually might already be on the table.
Lets see. However, I do think that PZ still can use some improvements before even thinking about a new game.. (Not hate, but there are still lots of animals that can be added, some mechanics might be added etcetera).

I think that Planet Zoo 2 is a possibility, but personally I would rather keep updating the existing game for a long time. But come on, the game's not even a year old, isn't it a bit early to be talking about a sequel?

I'm still not convinced by the arguments I read yet, that the engine can not handle flying or swimming no matter what.

Just to clarify my own position on this, I don't know enough to say whether the engine can or can't handle those sorts of features. My point was to say that if it can't (because we at least know it's difficult) then a sequel at some undefined point in the future is probably likely.

In other words, as vaguely as possible, a sequel shouldn't be discounted.

I absolutely agree that the game as it is will continue to grow and improve and we might very well see those features in the current engine. I think one of the biggest drawbacks is that it is built on the same system as Planet Coaster, which means many of the issues faced by the PlanCo community are being faced by the Zoo community as well (such as the finnicky pathing system that even some of the game's most 'expert' players struggle with at times), so I also think that there are certain things that can only be corrected or improved if the game engine is changed or upgraded at the most basic level.

In any case, I don't believe discussing a sequel, even at this early stage in the game's life, counts as criticism of the game we have.

I really agree (y)
This game still has a really long life and is getting better, but some basic things still need to be fixed (for example the way the okapi walks is pretty bad 😕) but I have faith in this guys (y)
