Mine arrived today. Positional tracking an interesting addition, being able to look around the ship/down the side of the seat! But otherwise can't really detect any difference over DK1, certainly not from a resolution perspective. Text still unreadable. As has been said, if you were hoping DK2 would give you a high-end, high-res playable experience, you will be disappointed - but I think that's well understood by now![]()
Agreed. Something very wrong here. Check in ED Options page to make sure res is 1080p and the OR detail slider is all the way to the right. Also turn off UI effects in options
text is easily readable in the main, even without leaning in
its like what i experience, i have a dk1 so i know what to expect but what i see in my dk2 just seams wrong. in my case i see an instant drop in gfx when i activate the "experimenta 3d" stuff. all text just goes in the toilett. i can clearly read menues better when i dont activate it but then my left and my right eye are switched.
also i did read about a "oculus" slider for gfx details - i dont have that in my options?!?
I wear glasses in my Rift every time I use it. Though there appears to be a small amount of wear on the lenses it hasn't made a visible difference whatsoever.Quick question. Two friends of mine are keen for a go of the DK2 but both wear glasses. I've heard they can scratch the DK2 lenses. Should I ban them? (Contacts or nothing boys), is that just a myth.
if anyone with AMD gpu gets supersampling working, be sure to say what you used. I won't have time until the weekend to try.

If someone does wear glasses make sure to set them up with the eye relief at least halfway out or more so their face isn't smashed against the lenses. It removes the black bars that are the edges of the screen from your FOV any way and makes the experience more immersive.
Slightly OT but apparently people have managed to hack DK2 support into Alien Isolation. Anyone brave enough to try it and report back once they have changed their underwear?![]()
I'll be trying it for a little while tonight.
Here's a link to how to do it if anyone is interested - http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2ina7c/how_to_enable_rift_mode_for_alien_isolation_even/
I think you need to get your rift as second monitor setup correctly before worrying about Elite Dangerous settings. With the Rift set as second monitor you should be able to see your desktop through the DK2 with no games or demos running.can you guys start and play the game without the experimental 3d stuff aktivated ? anyone else here with the left/right eye problem here ?
i have my rift as secondary monitor and i can see my desktop in it ... but as said i have the problem with the left and right eye switched, so i see the left half of my desktop in the right eyecup and vise versa.
