Notice Fleet Carrier Update - Known Issues

I took on a kill pirate misssion as soon as the game started up ok. When I flew the 10,000 LS to the target USS there were 2 Corvettes with the same name. One marked as misssion target the other one was wanted. So killed them both. What gives?

To balance my last post, I think this is a valid question (and being upset about it is a valid emotion). I just don't expect FDev to go without food, water, and sleep until it's fixed, that's all.
I do not expect something like this either but is it unreasonable to think that by now they should have a night shift crew just for updates like this with let's say 100% more payment and enough heads up for planning for their private life? just for one or two nights? would this be an unreasonable expanse to make?

Call me a newb, but I still use auto-dock. I just got slammed into the hull of a carrier, losing my shields and taking 52% hull damage. With a cutter full of tritium, that would have been very annoying.

So far, that's the second bad landing I've had on a carrier. I can do manual, but sometimes I'm lazy. Someone's gonna lose a ship...

That bug pre-dates this update :)

Sometimes they shoot each other :D

I'll just say this. I may or may not have been willing to drop $20 or so on ARX to prettify my carrier. But I cant get one (thanks to Black Adder). soooooo now nope not anymore I guess

I think you overestimate the size of the crew working on Horizons... FDev isn't Microsoft, and if they do have a special "night crew", it's probably only for the launch of new games like the recent Planet Zoo.

One issue I noticed when my FC failed to purchase is that it had the same fixed name as it did in Beta 2. I then looked in my log file and found this. Which leads me to think that those having the crash are the ones who participated in Beta 2.

I also had the same fleet carrier ID. It alternates between that one and 1601112 or something like that. Not every other time, but I see both of them and only those two ids. It's odd it's coded as a 403 as well. Very, very odd errors.

Some commander's carriers are NOT showing up in the navigation panel, the ONLY way to lock onto them navigationally is by clicking on the carrier in the System Map.

Edit:
Yes I know about the 'filters' on the left side of the navigation panel (The FC bullet point is 'unticked' by default). See my later reply below for the actual problem. Ta! o7

I meant just designate a night crew for such rollouts and disband them afterward. but thas just too expensive I guess. so the bad look is cheaper hm?

More issues for the Devs

Auto Launch in an engineered Cutter is overshooting the mail slot when trying to leave a station.
The AL had similar problems when first introduced into the game but they were corrected.

Little or no traffic in the stations but that's probably just normal because of the BGS reset.

"Incoming Traffic" voice message then no message in the inbox. Some show after completing an interdiction kill.

Still cannot purchase a fleet carrier. Maybe it is wise not to until more problems are resolved.

Verified could not sell cartographics.

Some good news

Cargo missions are working. 8 missions, 2 systems, 19.3 million credits plus 455k per 3 pirate kills.
One of the cargo mission rewards was 28 units of Trintium.

Regards

Every single update tends to go this way. In fact, remember the 3.4 update (give or take) that they released right before Christmas and left it broken until well into January because the office was closed for vacation? Now THAT was inexcusable. Twelve hours of a broken game is one thing, but 12 plus DAYS, that's nuts.

Anyway, I'm going to join Frontier in getting some sleep. I'm sure when I awaken in the morning, everything will be perfect and everyone in the forum will be happy. Peace on earth and good will to (wo)men!

Can I please ask a question from anyone who has purchased a FC? Do you get greeted or treated like nobody when you arrive?

I cannot donate Tritium to my carrier. I have a cutter full of the stuff and the donate ui will not allow me to donate tritium. Good thing the transfer to storage works or else I would have 712T of tritium that I can't use.

Minor graphical/gui bug in the Universal Cartographics menu. When selecting a single system when their are enough systems to have a scroll bar the cancel/confirm buttons are displayed over the list as it is scrolled. (I could be viewed as scrolling is allowed when an individual system is selected, and that this should not be allowed.(the player should be forced to select confirm or cancel before scrolling starts working again.)

Mission bug:
Passenger missions that were active got removed, but the passengers are still in the cabins. (I can not dump the passengers, or take new passenger missions.) It would be nice if the long range passenger missions could be reinstated/recovered somehow, or at least have the defunct passengers be removed from the passenger cabins.

You completely missed the point. There is a certain amount of professionalism involved in the IT field in making your crap work. The issue of players not being able to purchase carriers because the systems were full surfaced in both betas. BOTH! Why was the issue not addressed then?
Many times during my 25 year IT career I've pulled all-nighters to get things working, sometimes for things that are genuinely important, but often for systems as trivial as electronics consumables sales (oh no, someone might not get their new TV on time!). If it isn't working, typically you don't sleep until it does - that's the nature of the IT beast - I even remember my first boss telling me this very thing - you will sometimes have to work until it works. Having said that, I don't actually care if I have to wait a few days here - I'm just really surprised at the decision to send everyone home to bed given that I've never had anything less expected from me than work until it works. Maybe it's a good thing though, it might show industry expectations are changing and some realistic perspective is in place - then again maybe it's just got too hard for tired minds to deal with and they need to re-assess in the morning.
