Don’t Nerf Mining, Buff Everything Else

You make pitiful amounts of credits in combat, exploration, smugleing and power play . Its to the point that it’s a net loss to partake in these fun activities. Even befor Borann this was a problem . Pls fdev , ild love to have fun doing something else instead of mining ⛏ ⛏ ⛏ ⛏
Problem is you are only thinking of fleet carriers
The current earning rates in some professions is completely destroying 99% of progression.
Of course this has gone on for so long now maybe it's unfixable.
Personally I am over 2500 hrs in and deliberately never did silly OP earnings and just kept within what at the time I felt was sensible. This kept the sense of progression alive for the most part but means fleet carriers will be forever out of reach. (That said fleet carriers shouldn't be too cheap either I mean look at the size of them)
It's likely too late for horizons but I would prefer a huge nerf on mining but a cut in the cost of fleet carriers , but that is just me.
Anyone is free to not care about progression. In the game or want a remotely sensible economy but I don't think a single honest person can say that earnings of 100 million an HR in a fairly cheap ship doesnt pull the rug from most of the content in the game.
Mind you FD don't care about this so it's understandable that some players don't I suppose. It kills it for those who want to role play and.would in theory enjoy a bit of minmaxing but don't want to break the game

But I hear now the new meta is trading which also has massive earnings for almost no risk

Thinking on my feet now however 1 way to make fleet carriers accessible AND keep earnings lower would be that we can't buy them at all but instead each account has the ability to find and salvage a wrecked one. It could take many months of shipping materials to it whilst a team of engineers and mechanics (real ones not space wizards) fix it up (this would have to be abstracted I suppose but would have been cool content for odyssey in a less abstracted way)

I think something in between is in order. bring up the income of most other things, and take mining down to that level.
Being able to make a fully kitted anaconda in a day is not good for game play.
A fully kitted conda is no match for a fully engineered keelback. Bigger != Better in this game.

I actually enjoy mining. But that is just my opinion.
I agree other activities should get a bit of buffing. But maybe try think of a way they can be buffed instead of just screaming "buff and nerf" repeatedly? But that is just my opinion.

Raise the rewards is the only way to buff something , but it f you have an alternative solution to buffing ild honestly love to hear it and steal the idea for another forum post 😛

To be honest the way the economy has gone and what DB said the economy would like underlines the issue with how this game has gone compared to how FD said it would go.
We were promised FD would take huge care on keeping the economy balanced with each career being continually balanced to make sure all were viable with no 1 meta....
This has never been the case however and I think went out of the window the moment FD decided they could not sell credits on the store for cash

I do feel like they see the community as just a income

yes and no.
e.g. the current money could be received easier or in less time instead of just make it give more credits. or give more credits but also make it harder to get that credits.
Bounty hunting can be improved by the addition of making the kill warrant scanner giving more credit bonus.
however smuggling could be made more interesting with something like sensor countermeasures that make it easier to avoid being scanned by scrambling the sensors of a scanning ship.

It was a pun, it was super easy for vets to get carriers just for the devs to nerf money makeing so it’s way harder for anyone else to get one , “elitismn erfing profits also makes things less fun

I see. The only thing I'd say there is that it isn't a competition. Being difficult to attain makes you value the achievement more.
If they drop the economy back down to something more sensible then, if you must compete, you'll have the satisfaction of knowing that you got your carrier without the OTT LTD situation.
