You make pitiful amounts of credits in combat, exploration, smugleing and power play . Its to the point that it’s a net loss to partake in these fun activities. Even befor Borann this was a problem . Pls fdev , ild love to have fun doing something else instead of mining ⛏ ⛏ ⛏ ⛏
Problem is you are only thinking of fleet carriers
The current earning rates in some professions is completely destroying 99% of progression.
Of course this has gone on for so long now maybe it's unfixable.
Personally I am over 2500 hrs in and deliberately never did silly OP earnings and just kept within what at the time I felt was sensible. This kept the sense of progression alive for the most part but means fleet carriers will be forever out of reach. (That said fleet carriers shouldn't be too cheap either I mean look at the size of them)
It's likely too late for horizons but I would prefer a huge nerf on mining but a cut in the cost of fleet carriers , but that is just me.
Anyone is free to not care about progression. In the game or want a remotely sensible economy but I don't think a single honest person can say that earnings of 100 million an HR in a fairly cheap ship doesnt pull the rug from most of the content in the game.
Mind you FD don't care about this so it's understandable that some players don't I suppose. It kills it for those who want to role play and.would in theory enjoy a bit of minmaxing but don't want to break the game
But I hear now the new meta is trading which also has massive earnings for almost no risk
Thinking on my feet now however 1 way to make fleet carriers accessible AND keep earnings lower would be that we can't buy them at all but instead each account has the ability to find and salvage a wrecked one. It could take many months of shipping materials to it whilst a team of engineers and mechanics (real ones not space wizards) fix it up (this would have to be abstracted I suppose but would have been cool content for odyssey in a less abstracted way)
