Notice Fleet Carrier Update - Known Issues

A wee bit off topic but I don't know where else to ask this question. If a FC goes into debt and goes into a decommissioning state the process takes 7 days but what if my FC is NOT in debt and I just want to sell it does it still take 7 days. Thanks in advance
Good question. Also, what if I want to sell back the FC way, way out in the black? Do my ships go to the last port docked? What about my stored modules on board? Might be a fsat way to return to port and avoid mining for a month just to return from the perimeter of the galaxy. I certainly will not ever mine to move all the way back. Ill take a loss first.

I am trying to obtain 15000 units of Tritium to move way out into the black. Its going to take me 3 days to manually buy and drop off the fuel to my FC pig. This really is ridiculous. I don't even care about the real world. What gamer really wants to spend 3 days doing a menial task like this? But, whatever....

I assume your ships and mods would be sent to the closest or last station you landed at, I do know that if you're out in the black the further away from the bubble you are the less money you get back.

I left my Fleet Carrier for about 2 hours and came back online. No destination set so I went into Galaxy Map and plotted a route to the bubble where I will leave the thing. Until this bug gets sorted and we are told it's sorted.

I hope the darn thing jumps......

Is it really gonna take you 3 days to fill her up with 15,000t? How long do you play in a day? or are you doing it in a Sidewinder

IC, so in a sense, you have to pay for the fuel.... Huh, I wonder if the it equates to cheep fuel cost or exorbitantly expense fuel equivalency. I have a good guess though.

Unbelievable this has happened twice now. Different destinations less than the max jump and Jump Failed for unknown reasons. Maybe it was the dreaded Black Adder again. As it is now I am well and truly stuck less than 500 LY from home. Dammit Frontier fix this asap.

It took me a little over an hour to haul 13500 units when I paid premium for it (30k instead of 5k per unit) and parked to a system where my carrier was right in front of the station.

I have already spent about 4000 units since then but now I'm stuck in jump loop in a system that is too far from any other system to jump to using regular ships =)

LOL...

Between all the known and commented errors from the beta that have arrived in live and the new errors blowing up everything you just gotta shake your head. I know it's not exactly easy stuff, but I feel like beta was a waste of time. Lots of reported issues just ignored or never got enough 'likes' to be elevated and then it was all turned off the last day and here they come with all the identified bugs in place.

I guess this is our first live server tick so we'll have to wait to make our mobile stations mobile again. Oh well, I was not planning to move for the time being.

OOP was invented like 30 years ago. And Elite does not follow it. They fixed locking window for carrier's cargo, now same happened with limpets dropper. Why ? Because no OOP was used. With proper planning, it would not be copy-paste there, and 1 fix would fix all at once.
And when you come to TDD paradigm - you break OOP completely. Instead planning / rewriting you do copy-pastes to pass tests.
But you cannot time-track OOP planning ... so effective managers ask you TDD and many other new words like u;re worker on factory. Then we have repeated / never fixed bugs.
Or because they are following oop but have some UI differences because of contextual differences that break the black box in one context but not the other. If they have to different callers expecting sightly different behavior from the object, fixing the object to support one because you think the object is behaving incorrectly will break the other caller.

This kind of bug happens regularly in real world oop.

Yeah, my largest ship is an Conda which I can fit 280 units in. I really don't feel like buying a hauler and having to set it all up I guess... Maybe I should just by and use a stock type-9 and then dump it afterwards....

I get a game lock and boot job about every 5 transports myself. You are probably paying upkeep costs while you sit there too. ;)

I'd like to report an issue. When I arrive to my carrier, I am not greeted by my Carrier's hundreds of staff and crew like the Emperor's Arrivial in Return of the Jedi. I saw this in page 17 of the sales brochure provided by the Brewer Corp. My final decision in purchasing this fine vessel was based on this, and, even though I am not an Imperial, I desire the basking to be strong with my Crew. Please fix this ASAP. lol!
Accidentally shoot your carrier and they'll great you like the rebel alliance though.

Orange Sindwinder here... was mining Tritium and even the prospect limpets were taking like 30s to launch. Just got disconnected.

So to confirm on the jumping carrier bug, leaving the carrier via low wake etc then closing the client then re-opening the client DOES NOT work.

Also, I have noticed something strange, my carrier will not spawn on my nav panel where I know I'm right next to it in super cruise until I close then re-open the client.

What I'm baffled with is that these issues did not occur whilst on the beta so now that this has happened, which has only been since the server maintenance took place yesterday, urgent fix needed as I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere and I can imagine quite a few others are now too.

:UPDATE:

So it seems when this bug occurs, you have the regular jump cool down time taking place silently in the background whilst not being able to see it, I've just been sat on the carrier talking to a friend and I just checked the jump navigation panel on the carrier management and now I can jump again, potential bug? Unsure...

Again, GG FDEV.... nice...

:UPDATE... AGAIN... I KNOW:

Waited the full 15 minutes for the FSD sequence to boot up and jump me out of this system, for it to say unknown error and then I'm not able to jump until the hidden cooldown disappears, I am going to wait until the cooldown surpasses, then close the game, re-open then select a jump.

GG FDEV, a response would be nice...to some of these
It's almost certainly an issue with the coordinating webservice being overloaded or down following the reset. The issue is reportedly widespread and cross platform which most likely means an issue communicating with the system that coordinates carrier movements.

From what I've been able to gather, carriers work by having a web service that the game asks for information about carriers in a system. When you jump the carrier, what is actually happening is that your computer informs that server to start advertising the carrier in the new system and stop advertising it in the old one. If they communication with that server fails, the carrier can't jump. I'd verify this is the issue in my netlog but don't need to jump my carrier at the moment.

It started with Black Adder for the day and losing DAVS HOPE, Jameson's Wreck and all of the Guardian Ruins etc. Now this inability to jump the Fleet Carrier due to Unknown Reasons is ruining the game for me completely. If it happens again when I get up in the morning I will fly my 74 LY Anaconda back to Shinny and pay to bring what I need back to the station instead of wasting away on this useless Fleet Carrier that is unable to make a sodding jump today. I am fed up to the back teeth doing Frontier QAQC for them. Sick of it you hear me! Fix this Bl***y GAME!

@everyone

WORKAROUND: you have to wait one hour until the red marking and text "Jump lock" has disappeared, the you can plan the jump and it works properly.
Seems the cause is a timer in background which is triggered by jump-abort (and should last 1 Minute only) that takes 1 hour !!!

:) case solved
