Fleet Carriers Update patch 1 - Downtime and patch notes

People are pretty upset about this lol... but in my opinion.. I think it's just shell shock? I don't think it's as exaggeratedly bad as everyone things?

My opinion: LTD mining has been extremely unbalanced compared to exploration and combat. These things are supposed to be at a 1:1:1 ratio so that no one path would be exceeeeeedingly more profitable then the rest, but we all know the mining right now is excessively over-profitable.

Nuts and bolts - the sub surface ejection reduced by 25%? That's it? Guys really? Instead of making 300K in 60 minutes its now going to take an extra 15-20 minutes? Real sad day. Come on lads. This nerf is NOTHING compared to what you're making it out to be. Double/Triple overlay nerf? they will still exist and they will be found, and flocked too very quickly, just like they always have using ED Tools. They will still be there and now instead of making a still-overwhelming (in my opinion) 300k in an hour it just might be 90 minutes... but to be honest making that much in a SINGLE DAY is still excessive. What do you need all that money for @_@

"But my fleet carrier!!!" - Look, not everybody needs a fleet carrier. In a system today there were 30-40+ in ONE system. This is insane and over saturation and ... man. TOO MUCH in my opinion.

One guy earlier was like "Well im done with ED because holding left trigger is too boring" (paraphrasing). YO DUDE if you have been SOLELY pinning only ONE aspect of this game to your heart you're missing out on the great fun that is everything else about this game. Not to mention, again, they did not remove sub surface LTD from the game or something xD. Calm down. You're not leaving lol.

Anyway this is all just my opinion on the unbalanced excessive money from LTD, and peoples reaction to bring brought down to something more reasonable. It's my opinion, a lowly Anaconda LTD miner (once every few weeks because 500k a week is enough to sustain me for a month in game). I won't scream at you for disagreeing. Let me know what you think!

No they have to fix the broken reticule animation for surface missions first.

Lol, imagine if you were a developer at frontier, you build your thing, its got your name and rep on it. You own it. Then suddenly someone comes along, breaks it, and it never gets fixed, becoming immortalized as a broken half baked thing forever. Look son, daddy made this. How annoying would that be for the original devs :)
Is that still broken??

you're dreaming... no WAY to make 200m/ hour in combat.. ive been a dedicated combat player, and about 1.5-3 million per hour...
While I do agree with what you're going with here, I'm surprised you cna't get more then 3m/h when some hasrez ships pop for 200k each, with one knocked out probably 5-10 mins when I play dedicated combat (solo). I think we both, though, play combat for the fun and not for the money lol :)

The level cap is ships / engineers - let's assume you have all of them you wanted to have, and engineered them the way you have. You also did the voyage to the core and back, dabbled in all in-game activities and know their ins and outs, flipped countless systems in BGS and so forth. Basically, you did everything. You have billions. You can of course continue playing, but there's little incentive to do so other than routine. Gold rushes like that provide at least a bit incentive, and recently dropped fleet carrier content is almost wikipedian example of what an endgame content is. I stopped at ~1.2 billion previously, there was no point to earning anymore, I was comfortable with rebuys for a quite while and was generally playing the game doing what I wanted, not earning the money to do what I wanted.

Seems like you're trying to fit a square peg into a round hole with that definition to me.

I think it's more accurate to say that instead of a true endgame, Elite can be divided into two open-ended phases that players alternate between: scrambling to meet a momentary goal (ships, credits, rank, travel, etc.) and playing leisurely.

I just popped into game to check the progress of a carrier I'm travlling with.

The carrier I'm on appears twice in the navigation panel.
I didn't launch to scan the system (the carrier was scheduled to leave in 10 mins).

The two unexplored bodies is correct - from the system map, there are two suns here.

Whelp, there goes my plan.

Was hoping to use Kirre's Icebox to fund a fleet carrier, to park in a system and run missions like I do for enjoying elite - aka shooting ships. Was going to be useful, since the faction I was hoping to boost has an outpost with no shipyard, a fleet carrier parked alongside would have been easier and contributed to me enjoying elite more.

Shall see how the new spot turns out, before I play more elite, or catch the space bug again...

Honestly the thing I'm most upset about is changing the colour of landing pad 7. I would like them to keep it as is.

I wish I could just change it myself. It is my fleet carrier after all, I paid a fortune for it.
