ANNOUNCEMENT Fleet Carrier Update - Game Maintenance

I just had this happen to me after 268 Jumps and completing the mission now it is gone, this is really crap. I guess I will have to stop playing this game for awhile in hopes that all of the bugs are fixed as this is really disappointing and annoying got disconnect twice today. It was for 17 Million credits just down the tube this is really a total mess.
Mission board stated three weeks , I did the mission in 3 days so if the mission expired then it means the board was misleading.

Mission comes back I go back and complete a second time and then get back to the station and it's considered as a fail mission and no credit for it what a total waste of time this was.

On xbox I've been having issues with my whole console crashing when buying things from the commodity market
I am moving the game from my external to my internal will update whether it crashes again or not

Xbox One X by any chance? Happens using the slider for amounts, not just on the commodities market but the mission “sliders” too. Makes a horrible buzzing noise and flat out turns off the whole Xbox after making the cooling go into overdrive (even though it’s not even warm), if it breaks it one day I’ll be asking FDev for a new one 😂

So where exactly do I put in a robust complaint about the stupid way you have to transfer Tritium from the carrier cargo, to a ship, then back to the carrier again!? It's doing my head in.

"Hey hanger crew, I need you to take 750 tons of Tritium from the Carrier cargo and put it on my type 9 please. Yep go ahead it's fine....

Oh and when you've done that, I need you to immediately take it all off again and move it over there.... yes the Tritium depot... Sorry pal, them's the rules."

Immerrrrrsion!..

Great stuff now you broken other stuff in game. I payed good money to have paint job on my carrier now it won't display. Get your act together!!!
patience my friend, patience. they will get it fixed soon enough. they just finished addressing the sound bugs in last update. bugs happen and they'll narrow it down. remember its a small team that's doing the best they can and need time off for themselves and their families too like everyone else <3

There should be no need for patience, we pay good money for paint jobs and when we can't use them well nuff said. It's time they tested patches before releasing, if they do test them heads need to roll someone is not doing there job, time after time you get a patch and it's usually game breaking for elite. Lets see if the next patch breaks something else.

well in the real world, you DO have to exercise patience because you cant expect them to work 24/7. If a paint job is really your only complaint, id say you got off lucky compared to others. I know i'm talking to either instant-gratification-millennials or old people who gotta hassle clerks over a stupid nickel. both of which are rediculously entitled. but lets just cut them some slack. they are showing they are getting stuff fixed slowly but surely.

Honestly, im still waiting on a ticket response for the complete loss of my empire rank for no reason (i was a baran). You know how much time and work that was to aquire? and yet here you are complaining over a paint job...the world does not revolve around just you. like i said, they have higher priorities right now then ensuring your precious fleet carrier looks pretty.

Sorry if this is coming off snippy as its not meaning to be an attack toward you. i understand how frustrating not getting what you payed for immediately can be. especially when you busted your butt off for a fleet carrier. Just wanting people to keep in mind during these hard times that theres alot more problems than our own going on. especially during these difficult times.

NOPE
in the real world they are not doing any charity work, you know they get paid, right?
In the real world, mediocrity is not rewarded or caressed.
In the real world, you can't lie about working on a thing and publishing it, and then prove yourself not.
Review the latest patch posts since September.
In the real world that is deception and malpractice, not to mention that they try to correct what matters the least and what gives them the least work.
In the real world, you listen to your customers, and more when after a public letter you promise to communicate more but then you leave the game broken for a week without giving the slightest answer.

The truth is that in the real world many frontier workers would have already been fired, because after September the improvements have been minimal and the errors much worse .... 10 months man, it can't take that long to apply a patch to a game that you are supposed to know how their code base works, they didn't create it 3 days ago, it was 6 years ago ... and meanwhile they design/program cosmetics, paints ...they take us for fools .
And finally, the guy has every right to complain, even if it is only 3 cents, it does not matter, it only lacked that a company that is listed on the stock market did not deliver a product for which you have paid, they already do it several weeks a year when they break the game and it's unplayable, do you know what that is called in the real and legal world? Surely you know, yours is nonsense that has happened to all of us in life with a video game or technology.
You don't have to be patient either, this company has made a lot of money and grown a lot during these years, imagine now with the avalanche of paintings that have flooded us since September.
Stop treating them as if they were poor people forced to do a job for the love of art.
As long as they continue to be treated as people without insulting or treating them badly, they can continue to be told that their work is being mediocre or a complete bungling/fudge.

In the real world organisations get it wrong all the time. The most extreme I can think of is the Department for Work & Pensions (UK) being so slow and wrong that people have died in terrible circumstances when they’ve been declared fit to work by the DWP. As I say, that is extreme but there are hundreds of other issues that maybe don’t end in death but where people are left with enormous costs or health issues owing to the mishandling of a process by all sorts of organisations.

Tons of tons of things going wrong ending in death all the way down the list to your paint job not working on your spaceship. Maybe not acceptable but sometimes a bit of perspective helps.

That perspective would need to be in the context of a topic about game maintenance on a specialist subject forum about that game. People dying from bureaucratic failures IRL is not a reasonable comparison here imo.

I agree that those who have spent an eternity playing elite, should have some perspective and stop defending or idealizing the game of their dreams and be somewhat more critical, they are disappointing you all the time, they are not fixing anything, ignoring us with many known problems that they don't mention, neither for good nor for bad, and you keep false hopes that they give you all the time.
You could write books about what people were talking about 2 or 3 years ago about FC's .... even since last year, countless ideas, stories, possible updates have been told .... and tell me they have delivered you In almost 1 year, please, sincerely they only made a store, ignoring all the other problems, what else do they have to do badly to make you realize and stop defending indefensible things at this point in the game?

I don't know what that comparison is about, one thing is an instrument / organization that belongs to the state and feeds on contributions or whatever, and the other is a private company that charges money to offer its services ... whatever for defending whatever ... in private companies there are layoffs all the time, for the other thing wait for elections,
I suppose .

Perhaps we could consider that it is most likely that Frontier staff are all working from home, as you maybe aware through your own circumstances, even in the most fluid of teams this is leading to almighty mistakes, both public and private sector. I don't know if one of their staff has a dead relative from covid sitting on their mind whilst they are trying under difficult circumstances to fix a poxy paint job.

What is relevant is cribbing about a paint job when at a time there world is burning seems a little out of proportion.

The extreme example I gave was about state, but plenty of private companies make mistakes all the time, they continue although their mistake cost lives or serious financial loss. All too often companies get away with stuff without a job or a dollar being lost.

Not within the context of the forum we are on. It is your comparison with apocalyptic events that is out of proportion.

If I buy a joystick from Amazon and it is poorly made, that may be because the production line was short staffed due to illness but it is still poorly made. I would not expect to have to suck it up, I would expect the company that made the joystick to suck it up for selling something that should have failed QC and not been sent to the stockroom.

Maybe my perspective is skewed because I'm having to work from home, dealing in may cases of the fallout of world events, death and tragedy, in the complex work I'm doing mistakes are being made because of the convoluted way we are being forced to work. You try to keep them to a minimum but stuff happens.

This forum may have its own context but it does not sit outside world events, no matter how much you want to believe that.

Honestly, crying about a paint job, right now, looks so self absorbed.

This, if we all know and understand it, why defend those practices?

And it is not just because paint jobsor the current situation, they have been acting like this for at least a year and a half.
Making that excuse when most developers would dream of working from home is not very good.
I feel more sorry for a poor delivery man who after 10 hours on duty, finds himself when he gets home that his game, for which he paid, is broken or he has not been given a cosmetic for which he paid.
If we are going to tell sad stories comparing them to a video game ... we all know that there is a life outside the game, but this is the forum of the game, right?

Which still exists in the real world. Not outside of it, unaffected by it.
