Some interesting station counts from EDDB:
  • 6818 Coriolis Starports
  • 5979 Fleet Carriers
  • 3971 Orbis Starports
  • 1736 Ocellus Starports
If we consider FCs to be equivalent to major starports (they have shipyards), they now make up 32% of the galaxy's inventory. There are more FCs in the galaxy than Ocellus and Orbis stations combined, not far behind Coriolis stations.

I doubt a little that all of those 5979 have active shipyards. And their biggest advantage - mobility - is also a negative point in regards to s stationary port=)

Yeh, but it offers shipyard for owner. So, guess 80% of CMDRs will have it soon. I don't think it will be wide used as inter-commanders trade or so. Most will use as personal shipyard anywhere.
Actually I meet a lot of such - all optional services are absent on carrier. So it is true personal shipayard/cargo.

Yeah, found one with tritium at 4023/t and no carriers. Had turned off edmarket before jumping there as I suspected it was not noticed. How pleasant.

Well, after many tries with both ships within 4000m I finally got them into my PRIVATE GROUP and into Wing and when I did a planetary and a ring scan they both got the data.
Did a comp scan on a brain tree and they both got a 2500 CR CODEX credit but not a confirmation in the CODEX even though that type of Brain Tree still needs confirmation.
Same body has Ancient Ruins so I hopped over to one.
Here it got stranger. Comp Scan resulted in a 2500 CR CODEX entry for confirmation of an ANCIENT CODEX and both got credit.
Toodled around and scanned everything that activated and all but the last one said NO NEW INFORMATION.
The last one gave me a DELTA DATA.
Got the other Scarab out and went to the same obllisk and scanned it and got an ALPHA and a GAMMA. Never had the same oblisk give different data during the same instance in wing before.
Took the 2nd scrab to one of the oblisks that had scanned as an ANCIENT CODEX and scanned it and got a BETA DATA. Again. Never had the same oblisk give different data during the same instance in wing before.

I still think FC should have been a squadron asset, there seems too many of them.
At present they and mining seems the only thing people are doing.

Where have all the story lines gone?

Thargoids
Guardians
Raiders
Ghost ships etc

Sad really, has game become ED miner

This works...for now :D My fav empty red dwarf is occupied by 4 carriers already. So now I park 7ly more away :D
...fed ranks? Gosh ... tens of carriers bcs system named in video :D However there are 4 more at least same effective near by - empties :D

Not sure if this is related to the update, but I have been trying to mine Selenium on LHS 417 and I have logged out of the game over the last few days and none of the sites have respawned any of the minerals. I have even flown to other systems between logging in and out. Does anyone have any thoughts guidance?

If you can find a triple cluster of metallic that yields SE it will usually regenerate if you get 5km from it and log off and back on.
