Society For Creative Achronism (SCA)?Haha!
You mean "ADC" and "SCA"?
I assumed that those ED abbreviations are a common knowledge on this forum.
PS. Should I explain what I mean by "ED"?![]()
Air Defense Command (ADC, the precursor to NORAD).Haha!

yup first python i bought took months to get enough cash together to buy it, then realized how much more i needed to outfit it![]()
Empty servers I reckon.I have just imagined what would happen in forums if FD "accidentally" rebalanced ED to slow credits/ranks progress to similar pace
And reseted the accounts.
Just for a week or two...
Empty servers I reckon.
My students are deliberately avoiding grind, and staying in the early stages of the game. That says volumes about the attraction of endgame play.Well, OK resetting accounts went too far.
I had a lot of fun on my new account though, flying with unengineered underequipeed and underarmed ship.
Finally some tension and a bit of effort to stay alive![]()

I'm not new, you'd think we'd be used to this kind of thing but I'm no longer surprised by the things that go wrong with this game and it's patches. It's only a game I understand that but it doesn't make it any less frustratingWelcome to Elite!
Pffft, 4 patches? In the early days of Elite Dangerous there were updates that were followed by SIX patches! Those were the days. You younglings don't know what waiting for a working patch is!
Has anybody mentioned several months of grinding credits for Anaconda in the "good ole days"?![]()
Btw.. why can't we put up buy orders >2 bil anymore?
What's the "lore" behind it? If I have the money..and the carrier?
It feels like such an artificial boundary..it's weird..
I've heard a funny theory/rumor:
citation:
"The 2 billion limit is FDev's solution to using a 32 bit integer to track those values. After 2.1 billion and change the value was showing a negative. FDev just capped the transaction amount instead of switching stuff to a 64 bit integer. "
I had one of the HCS voice packs. At first it was fine, I'd say, "Request docking!" and it would request docking. Then it 'evolved' so that I'd say, "Request docking!" and it would be all, "Reset your pips for you, sir? Suit you, sir?" so I dumped it and wrote my own macros.
This is the first I heard that HCS had a binding for resetting panels; if there is one I'd be curious to know what it is.
Not that I'm using voice commands much now. Since I got my Reverb recognition is much less accurate. I use it to command my fighter pilot and it often takes multiple attempts to get my command recognised. And yes, I did train voice recognition on the new computer I bought to run the Reverb.
That's interesting.. kind of outrageous if true, but also interesting..
Odd that I've been able to travel around 6000ly so far with never a single problem replacing fuel used for jumps, in fact, putting a fuel surplus in my hold each time I do so, without using anything close to "the majority of my time preparing" for a jump. My ratio of exploration to mining hours is about 9 or 10 to one, so the vast majority of my time is in exploration. A few hours mining after each jump does just fine. But I don't make multiple consecutive jumps that deplete my fuel reserves in short order, so I don't have your problem, and so no need to gripe at all.Since not everybody uses a carrier just to park at some LTD farming spot or set up a stationary shopping mall, and some use the FCs for exploration then yes they'll jump their carriers more frequently than typical bubble dwellers. Thus fuelling will be a bigger problem for them that it might be for you. If you find that the notion of using a carrier to move around is somehow preposterous or people "griping" about the current absurd fuelling requirements bother you too much, feel free to put me, and any thread about the matter on ignore and keep having a nice day.
To rephrase others - "this is a race!" faster you get to destination point - is better, there exploration will begin. Then other point will be set.Odd that I've been able to travel around 6000ly so far with never a single problem replacing fuel used for jumps, in fact, putting a fuel surplus in my hold each time I do so, without using anything close to "the majority of my time preparing" for a jump. Sorry but don't forget that BEFORE you reach your destination, you HAVE to make multiple jumps...The only activity that is "using the carrier" that requires fuel is making jumps. Do you constantly jump the carrier, with little or no other activity between jumps, for the "majority of [your] in-game time"? To what end?
This sounds like the problem a lot of Commanders seem to have, treating a carrier nearly the same as a ship in terms of jump frequency, but ignoring the fuel requirements, or worse yet griping about them ad nauseum in the forums.
