after patch tritium

They only actually said they intended to make tritium MINING back to how it was.

They never said they had any intention of changing the ability to buy it cheaply or in more abundance back to how it was.

Which I hate by the way - but that's what they said.

This ^^^ The billion credit refuel is likely here to stay.

To be honest I prefer having the supply and demand apply to Tritium just as well as all other commodities, although I find the "regular" price for Tritium to be far too high.

If the mining availability is high enough it will hopefully drive down the regular price like it has for LTD's and Painite.

Put in a purchase order for tritium at competitive prices. If it's good enough, people will fill your carrier for you... It just may not be cheap. You won't have "waste" any time mining.
Oh lawd, now that sounds like fun. I think i'd rather just park my FC somewhere nice and use it as my private station.. all the perks, none of the yawn factor.

No, they DID promise us that tritium could be mined or purchased at stations.

The issue in Colonia isn't the availability of "cheap" tritium. It's the availability of ANY tritium (except trace amounts).

Frontier have broken their promise. In Colonia, at least.

You can buy tritium. I bought a bunch this morning, and then quickly 'sold' it. Not only do you have to compete with other FC owners, but also people trying to make credits too. I suggest to try mining. But as far as their promise to buy tritium at stations, well you can.

Adding to that, it's sort of like buying a sports car...if you have to ask how much a tire change is going to be, you can't afford it. Likewise, if buying a full tank of tritium at normal 40k prices is a cost concern, then you really shouldn't be owning a carrier.

Missing the point. If I buy a sports car, I should be able to buy fuel for it. Not necessarily "cheap" fuel, but FUEL nevertheless.

The current situation is roughly equivalent to the government suddenly decreeing that filling stations are only permitted in one city, and everyone else is being told to "ferment your own methane".

You can buy fuel for your fleet carrier, put in the appropriate purchase order, people will fill it for you. I know I'm looking for work. You're not going to fill your sports car for 10c a gallon... Maybe you can get your 'fleet' of friends in your squadron to help you fill it? It'll go a lot faster. Just a suggestion!

While i'm not for infinite number in offer/demands . theses numbers have to adapt players numbers and station numbers but now they are just to low. Making any demands/offer melt in 1 or 2 hours. This is really limiting for traders / miners.

I believe he's referring to Colonia. Good luck.

Why are people claiming you can't buy fuel for your FC? Tritium is more than available, just at the 40k price point rather than 4k.

The biggest problem is that it's far faster to mine painite and sell it to buy Tritium than to actually mine Tritium yourself.

But realistically speaking, who wants to waste time mining just to fill a FC..

Most people honestly. Especially those on exploration expeditions out of the bubble with their Fleet Carriers. You leave with a large stock having filled up in the bubble and as your reserves diminish, you have to refuel somehow while out in the black. Plus, it's a commodity with a purpose so having multiple avenues of obtaining it is a good thing. Can't really buy it out in deep space unless another FC is selling it.

Indeed, if tritium was even 60k a ton, I'd buy 10k of it. I just need something to buy, and there is none at stations. Within reason, I wouldn't mind paying a small premium over galactic average.

That being said my carrier has a buy order on Tritium, and am paying 175% for each ton.

Agreed. Personally would like if it Tritium was around the 20k - 30k a ton range, but in general, I'd like it to be a bit more abundant in stations in the bubble and more specifically, Colonia. Most people who don't enjoy mining need that second option while in the bubble while also having healthy mining yields for those seeking to make credits out of Tritium or just farming it to fill their FC reserves.

Look at the post right above yours. Jeez.

I mean, Colonia's kind of an exception, isn't it? It's fine in the Bubble.

The problem with players mining Tritium is that....why should they bother? Always faster to make money selling other stuff. Tritium just needs to be mineable quite a bit faster, problem solved.

I know, they live in Colonia though, I live close to the bubble and I have tritium coming out of my ears. Someone topped off my FC this morning, I am not even sure who but I'm grateful for that. I imagine living in Colonia, things just work differently there, being so far away from the bubble and all.

Indeed, this is what I am seeing. A few weeks ago I carefully planned an extended long range journey to Colonia with my fleet carrier, my first since the Beta. When I started my journey to Colonia with my carrier, these numbers were in the thousands. At some point during my travels they nerfed the supplies to oblivion. It wasnt until I was well beyond the point of no return did I catch wind that something was off at Colonia.

Had I known FDev would play a game of "bait and switch" mid route there, I would have never brought my Carrier. This is the part that annoys me.

It's not the price that concerns me, it's the availability.

Indeed. In all actuality I wouldn't mind mining Tritium in the bubble. My jumps are short and infrequent so to spend a little time mining isnt a big deal.

What is a big deal for me currently is needing about 10k with of Tritium to get back home, for when I started the trip to Colonia Tritium supplies were plentiful and by the time I got there, because of the patch, it's all gone. I'd rather not mine up 10k with my 200 ton cargo capacity python.

So the message seems to be, if you don't really, really like mining, you may want to reconsider buying a Fleet Carrier (unless you're in the Bubble).
What a mess they've made of these things. Sigh.
