Patch Notes Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 4 Patch Notes

After seeing the FC bubble->Colonia & Colonia-bubble shuttle trips dry up on the FCOC (Fleet Carrier Owners Club) discord channel, I've come to the conclusion that limiting the tritium supply to carriers via mining is a bad idea

Read about some actual theoretical studies being done about how to produce large amounts of tritium. The most promising approach seems to be by bombarding lithium pellets with radiation from a fusion reactor.

There has to be a way of incorporating this idea into the game by using lithium pellets as a limiting factor in how fast an FC can generate the tritium it needs for a long journey.

I'm assuming of course that the carriers have built-in fusion reactors. If not, then maybe a fusion based refinery module can be made available to FCs.
Hmmm ...could be point to start player's crafting :) Some craft modules which (for now) converts mined lithium to pellets. Later can add more recipes.

FDEV need to come up with some sort of incentive for FC owners to move the carriers out of the systems they are sitting in. They could continue to nerf the ever living hell out of mining, so they don't just remain mining storage platforms, but then they create a new problem: how do people then earn the credits to buy and maintain a carrier?
Parking meters.

Drop the ridiculous weekly upkeep costs and charge anyone who jumps their carrier into a faction controlled system 200M credits per day unless they are signed up to a Squadron with faction presence in that system.

Excuse me while I put my tin helmet on. ;)

David Braben is too busy counting his money to read his forum :p

Now be a good boy and buy some paint jobs :p
I think he pays someone to count for him :p

If you check what FDev answered on 1st stream about carriers "what should explorers do?", they said - just leave in bubble. So it is by design.(...)

I just dropped by to say:

"I told you so."

Several times on this thread.
And some called me troll for that.

It feels nice to have the last laugh.

Although I am not really happy about such "design".

PS. I like one detail in patch 4 : SSD mining is still more effective then lasers :p

Yeh, I figured FDevs does not read forums, now I'm gona park in some heavy used system. For long.

I knew it! I am an anomaly and moving on the verge of illegality. Feels also nice, to be honest...
Fortunately I didn't know about this Dev note. And the fact that they don't know their own game is strange, but not really new either.
Not really ...they changed their vision before beta 2. However design remains old "no solo explorers" in mind with some quick fixes. That's why so many problems.

Well, defining facts by being in majority failed miserably.

And I am not referring to "How Tritium supply/mining SHOULD work,
only to what are actual FDev intentions with patch 4 according to notes.

It seems that FDev mentioning "fixing" the Tritium was only about fixing Tritium disappearing from hotspots,
just as I (and a very few others) suspected, not restoring pre patch 3 state.

Is it ? Just spent 40-50 mins in VO spot. 1 vo rock, 2 alex rocks (skip it) and tritium. Had like 80t trit and 15 of VO :D

Oh, I have to be more specific, what I actually meant was:
"(...)fixing Tritium disappearing from Tritium OVERLAPS."

And Tritium findable in other hotspots is not in any way contradictory to fixing problem of (almost) no Tritium in Tritium overlaps (between patch 3 and 4).

PS. FDev seems to not fix it properly anyway. Testing suggests that Tritium triple overlaps give less yields then double overlaps.
What actually means that they have not tuned math responsible for overlaps RNG correctly...

Not sure what you guys mean by FC not being good for exploration, honestly I can't see any better use for it (I do see plenty of other uses, just not "better"). In fact, I hated the "new" exploration until carriers came along and made it awesome again. Even though I hate the billion credit refuel and this annoying FD obsession with making everything a pain in the behind, after a week grinding painite (how appropriate) I am about to head out again.

I'm far from being the only one, there's quite a lot of fleet carriers all around the galaxy. https://edastro.com/mapcharts/activity.html

And now we can bet how long it will take for this "proof" to show up:

;)

I must admit I've been finding those kind of "too many fleet carriers" posts hilarious over the last few weeks. They sound like those complaints from people who travel to the same mass-tourism traps as everyone else for their holidays and then complain it's too crowded. :D

Well, if there are so many carriers in some popular Painite mining spot, that it makes ED unstable, I will simply fly to another overlap.
Or even find me a new one.

PS. Of course this should be fixed anyway.
I just don't understand why I should let some video game ruin my mood, so I choose alternative solutions over going nuts and writing passionate rants on several forums.

And now it's hit me, too. One of the rare (to me) Mauve Adder errors. In my case it clearly was a network outage on my side. I hear pretty often from people who frequently seem to receive this error. Are you sure, that this isn't just the error code for network issues on the user's side?
Adder is network problem. But most get orange sw. That one ... I think something in client gets broken. Need complete restart game or it will keep repeat.
Last 2 times I had orange, I undocked then docked back to buy limpets I forgot, then SC is broken... maybe it is not related to FC but redock without cruise.

Torchlight II is filling my void.

I don't think you are too far off. Airports charge landing fees and parking fees. First 4 hours in 24 in inhabited systems at no charge? After that, gig'em.
