Obviously not. But you know this. I know this. It's downright scandalous how many in the community don't though.
Why don't they?
The inability to seperate fantasy from reality is a good place to start. Then you've got the exceptional timidity when faced with alternative opinions.
It's all just so ridiculous. Go play the game and if anyone gives you a hard time for it that's their problem, not yours.
Are you? Seems like some of the stuff you've described would fit the criteria. You seem to like the idea of controlling people with your maths tests for example.
Depends on how the other person feels about it I suppose, maybe you just don't realise the impact you had on someone.
This. So much this.I find it odd.
Open is like one massive gamble, every day. To me, there are always better pilots out there, always. For some thats a problem, because it robs them of something, like a tick to the ego. Now I get a kick knowing that each day passed where I remained without being shot down is a victory. If you live each day, and go about your gaming life alive you are thumbing your nose at gankers, and proving them wrong.
Its a bit like this from Richard Adams in Watership Down:
“All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a Thousand Enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.”
I cant say, he’ll hit me.Right who's being a bully?
I understand the reasoning behind your question but I feel it is a harsh one and an unanswerable one.
A running theme though this thread is that some appear oblivious to the potential implications of their actions, or do not appear to care about how they are perceived by others.
but there will inevitably be some that do not have access to the same information I do, that will take my attack as 'for no reason'. They may see me a the aggressor and maybe as a bully.
So I don't think I'm a bully, but there is no possible way I can be sure I am not being perceived as one.
That is you and you can only speak for you.I know you can reject this next bit as 'That is you and you can only speak for you' but if some guy shot my engine out then asked me a maths question, I'd find that funny. If some guy shot my engine out then tried to tell me all about their role play or their BGS stuff, I'd find that cringe. I'm far more likely to warm to the maths teacher if I'm honest.
I’d ask if you had any sports questions. What would you do if I said ‘renounce the empire or prepare to die’?![]()
Well, like many on here, circular reasoning. How do you know?
No, I've already answered. Asking 100 different ways is just cheesy lawyer deposition nonsense. You seem hell bent on picking fights with anyone not buying into your spiel...Seems like you are just trying to deflect now rather than addressing a serious concern directly related to the topic.
Nothing costs you a rebuy and if you're minding your own business with nothing to contribute, no one will chase you down and beat your opinion out of you. This is strictly PvP. Some are better armed and some just don't know when to high wake out.Man, this thread is a great metaphor for playing in Open.
One minute, we're calmly appreciating a beautiful, insightful experience, and then a few minutes later, it's hardpoints out and we're in a dogfight.
If there are any Solo players out there - yes, Open is just like this![]()
Right who's being a bully?
player X is not fodder, the content, the LULs for player Y from the perspective of player X
is that not the simple answer to the question?
I'd leave them to it & go play with people that wanted to play with me.Imagine playing Monopoly with someone who lands on a hoteled property of yours. Instead of paying what he owes and moving on, he crosses his arms and whines "I AM NOT YOUR CONTENT!"
What would one say about such a player?
