First "normal" coverage i've heard regarding odyseey.

Some of the LaveRadio team are longtime FDev NDA signees

Pretty sure that's not true. Amazing how people can perceive stuff. Generally, if we're told something and asked to keep quiet, we keep quiet. I think the only people in the team who have ever signed a contract with Frontier are Chris Jarvis and I.

Even if they are NDA that just means they cant release info that hasn't been authorised for release. How does that change what they did say or somehow be a deriding factor in and of itself? Is there a point to mentioning the NDA Im missing?

Edit ninjad and may not actually be entirely factual.

Your contracts didn't include NDAs back then? If so FDev changed their policy afterwards.

CMDR visits to FDev Towers for the past few years have all included NDAs, including when a bunch of us went in late 2018 for Beyond 3.3.

Shan is also a NDA signee:

NDA referencing is in context of the OP's previous thread

Some of what they covered was withdrawn by the magazines (fdev didnt mention animals just plants), walk around ship was withdrawn as well.

I don't know about the other gaming websites, but Polygon did withdraw the part about animals (as they got it wrong), but they claim the part about ship interiors remains valid. This was Polygon's response when I asked them for clarification on animals and ship interiors:

We’ve adjusted the mention of animals in the original story. The ship interiors bit remains valid. - Charlie Hall - Polygon

Yep. And you will no doubt remember, that you can't even get past reception without signing an NDA. :)

This is what they actually said in the article:

" Developers are also considering allowing them to walk around inside starships, exploring the vessels they’ve owned for years for the first time "

I think that got / is getting misinterpreted as meaning at launch, which maybe it did, maybe the devs interviewed were opening up and speculating and misspoke. Technically it just means its being considered, which isnt really new news, we all hope or think or know its coming at some point just not at launch.

So you and they are both right ofc :)

Yep. I wasn't contradicting Lave Radio or anything. :) I'm just pointing out that Polygon are standing by their statement that Frontier told them Ship Interiors are being "considered" and won't be in at launch. :)

I specifically asked Charile Hall directly about the paragraph you quoted: "Developers are also considering allowing them to walk around inside starships, exploring the vessels they’ve owned for years for the first time. The feature won’t be available at launch"

He confirmed that is still valid.

What we don't have however, is a direct statement from Frontier on the subject. When I asked Frontier about it, they told me "no comment".

The weird thing about the fuss over this is that the statement is basically a non-statement. It's just what the position is by default.

Ship Legs has been in the pipeline since what, day 0? So clearly the first sentence is simply a truism.

With FD never having said that Ship Legs would be part of Odyssey, the second sentence is the default up until FD say any differently. 🤷‍♂️
