The Oswald-Eugene Counter

The problem isn't only the limit. It's they didn't tell us until they were 'found out' because of early pre orders arriving to certain people and revealing this on youtube. Really really bad way to handle it! Wouldn't have minded if they announced it before, but now when they've been rumbled and few hours before launch to reveal this is appalling

I’m absolutely gutted. Less than 24 hours before release is not the time to tell us this. I’ve been extremely patient this whole process, giving PlanCo the benefit of the doubt but this changes the entire trajectory of my excitement for the worse. I had such a plan for my first park.

Thank you for clarifying that next-gen will have a higher capacity than current-gen, that's what I was hoping for.

I'm planning on getting next-gen at Christmas so I have until then to practice my building!

Even though I'm not planning on buying the console version, I completely see where people are coming from here. The fact that this news has came out so close to launch is very disappointing to see. I'm sure the devs have had this system working in the game for awhile now, and it wasn't even brought up in the livestreams of gameplay.

From what you was showing off, it was seeming like the console version would have very little differences from the PC version. People were super hyped about not getting a dumbed-down version of the PC game. Its such a shame you let this hype continue and kill it under 24 hours before release.

I'm sure people would've taken this news better if it was displayed or at least spoken about earlier on. Thats all.

Honestly. I'm disappointed. Les than 24 hours to be told something so crucial to the game that will effect 100% user experience across the board, I was very excited to create my park and now not so much as all that hard work put in to make it easier for the console user will be let down by a cap everyone will be constantly looking at. I'm certain that this will affect any future sales.. because looking at that first screen shot..it would seem you can build next to nothing!
All these amazing parks you see on YouTube and then there is this community that will lag behind and we will become the laughing stock of the community. I feel like we have all been cheated out of money.

This is why I don't pre-order, lots of deal breaking aspects are hidden (dare I bring up the SimCity debacle?). So very disappointing especially since I have an Xbox One S. Looking at just the RAM, it's about 40% difference between each in ram from Xbox One S > Xbox One X > Xbox Series X. So the parks just became pretty pitiful judging just from that. Take processing speed and graphics into account I'm not so sure this game should be marketed at all for anything less than the Xbox One X.

What does the counter show for scenarios for the Xbox One S? Would it be possible to even complete some of them?

Upgrading would be nice but something, something ~$700. That's a chunk of change lots of people don't have.

Nice of you to come in and defend the new community.

The thing here is that every question about this in social media has the typical devs response “we have nothing to announce regarding bla bla bla”. Well , you announcing this the day before the realease of the game, a behavior in consoles that you have known for a long time and that for many of us was key to buying the game. The game has been sold as the same PC creation experience on consoles and it seems that it is not like that until the day before launch. A shame but I hope that all of us who are feeling disappointed will show it and have an answer.

This information should have been shared with the community a month or so ago. We have people that pre-ordered the game that cannot get a refund. Luckily for those on Xbox you can refund a pre-order. I have been asking for a while in the forums any information on Next Gen versions only to met with the "we have nothing to announce at this time".

The frustrating thing about this is that Frontier 100% knew this would be an issue and waited till the DAY BEFORE LAUNCH to tell people about it. Now before I go on, I actually 100% understand the reason for this limitation. I have seen PC Parks running as low as 15fps or even lower due to the size and the amount of items placed in the park. You even have people posting Youtube video's of their parks, but they speed up the footage due to how bad the frame rate. I 100% get the reason to have this in place. The original Xbox One has only 5.5 gigs of Video Ram, the PS4 has 5.0 while the PS4 Pro has 6 gigs and Xbox One X has 9gb. So I get the reason for this. With that said...why did you wait till the day before launch to tell us?

Let's move on now. Now that we know this, can you please give us a bit more information how this works? Does each piece of scenery have a certain value? Is there something in the game that tells you if you drop this scenerary or ride it costs this amount of space? Providing only two images of what a 60-70% park may look like is pretty vague.

You mention that if I build a 80% park on Series X, most likely a Xbox One player wont be able to download it. Is there something in the Workshop that tells you if you can or cannot download something?

In the end I am still looking forward to the game, it is one of my most anticipated games. I just feel that communication is really poor and we need more information. I read a lot about the devs wanting to welcome new players to the Planco community and I no doubt believe you do...but it would go along way if the dev's would be more upfront with the community, The game will live and die due to the community and being more transeparent and providing information is a way to connect to your fanbase and future Planco family.

I'm contacting playstation now over the phone for a refund as this game has been miss sold to us and they have told us under the 2 days we are able to get a refund. Its unacceptable from a consumer point of view. How would they feel if it was done to them!

For those asking about future DLC....This limitation should not impact future DLC. It will just be something you will have to manage. Since Frontier has not said anything about future DLC I hope they still make some. The issue will be those that have made full parks then you have the DLC which you will then have to delete stuff to incorparate any new stuff. Still hope they do announce and make DLC.

I too think this info should have been shared even before preorder options went live. It's a shame this grts shared just a day before launch. I would love to get some info as to how this counter goes up and like Hawk said how do we know if we can place something ?

Yes, they need to explain this counter a little more. For example is it more costly to build a Wooden Coaster vs. a Steel Coaster? Since there are more parts for a Wooden coaster due to it's nature versus a steel coaster. Do different walkways cost more than other walkways? Lot's of unanswered questions that I hope they answer very soon since the game launches tomorrow.

It should be criminal to deceive customers as you have done. Don't get me wrong, I and I'm sure many others were expecting there to be SOME sort of limit, but to withhold this information LESS THAN 12 HOURS BEFORE RELEASE is incredible shady and disappointing. I gave Frontier and the devs the benefit of the doubt back in the spring when the game was pushed back as the world was still trying to figure out how to work through COVID; I can't imagine it is very easy to develop a game when you can't physically have teams working together in the same room. Now I'm starting to wonder if this entire game is just a cash grab for Frontier from the fanbases of other theme park sims that wanted a theme park sim on console. I have been waiting for this game for years and it is incredibly disappointing that I was lead to be believe that I was actually going to be able to "construct your dream coaster park in an unrestricted sandbox". I guess "unrestricted" means until you reach the restrictions. This is like telling a kid they can get any kind of ice cream they want, only to cut them off after the server has scooped up half a scoop of one flavor. You lied to your customers. Flat out lied. You should be ashamed. Even with this all that said, I really hope the team decides to remove the hard limit and change it to a warning that you may see a decrease in performance and frame rate. At least that way we can actually "construct your dream coaster park in an unrestricted sandbox". Because right now you look like a money greedy company trying to make a quick buck off new fans. Luckily for Frontier PSN doesn't allow refunds once you started the download.
