CG Top 25% Deserve Something Extra

I don't think extra is required, but I would like FD to have a proper think about these kind of decisions before they start CG's in the future.

I did 22 round trips in my unshielded cutter, 27 jumps per trip and I spent most of my time cursing the massive advantage FC's have to smash out large quantities for something they likely don't actually need, and stretch the CG percentage brackets that forced my hand if I wanted to stay in the top 25%

That said, I enjoyed chasing the target and I earned my reward (when it comes) and it has literally no impact on my gameplay if a few thousand other pilots get the FSD.

Someone mentioned tartan paint, I know that was a joke but I wouldn't cry if FD announced that :D

I'm one of the people who actually got in the top 25%, frankly I'm happy as long as I got my FSD. I'm not looking for anything extra. I don't like it when rules get changed, but I understand why it was in this case(even though the developers should've known this was going to happens, FC owners have been doing this type of thing, for as long as they been around).

With that said though, omfg it was much harder to hit the top 25% then it should have been. If you didn't abuse FC, you had to grind all night like I had to(and you better have a damn good ship at that that just so happens to be suited for the job at hand. Luckily I just basically got finished building a jumpconda when the CG popped up).

I made a suggestion to fix this FC nonsense for the future. Make it so a FC can't park within a certain ly range of a drop-off location.
That's a lot of permit-locked systems...

That's a lot of coding, then, before, and after. And, how far do you want to extend the carrier-free zone? 500 light years?

Not as much as you think. That depends on the CG/event, in the case at hand, 400 ly seems to be the number(and wouldn't be hard at all, since there's nothing around the area where the CG took place to beginwith that would've attracted FCs before hand)

My word do some people like to throw their dummies out over just about anything on this forum 😂

You got a big cash payout, a new toy and all your combat bond profits and some of you still aren’t happy?

Personally I’m not really bothered by the new FSD even though I’ve earned one.
I’ve managed to pick up pretty much all the new CG toys and I can safely say I don’t use a single one so far.

My biggest reward from all these combat CGs has been refining my ship builds & combat tactics.
Thanks to all the NMLA CGs I’ve now got an almost fully G5 Laser Mamba with a huge MC that absolutely cleans up High CZs to the point where they feel easy now (seriously HazCZs need to be a thing).
After the Witch Head AX CG I was fairly capable of soloing Cyclops, still a bit sloppy but good enough.
Now after this Coal Sack CG I’ve practically got my routine down to a fine art, refined my load out and I’m getting pretty good with Gauss Cannons.

The money and toys are nice but seeing a noticeable improvement to my combat skill and perfecting my ships is my prize. But I guess some people don’t value personal reward as much as material reward.

Had a lot of fun in wing against thargoids. We killed tons of basilisk and some medusas. Made it to 10% and didn't really care about the FSD prize. HOWEVER I can understand the frustration because frontier lied about something that people had to grind for. Especially the traders hauling 700+ t in a T9 with poor jump range wtihout any carriers. Or solo thargoid hunters that had to kill many cyclops in less ideal AX ships or in wing with total noobs.

It's plain unfair to them, at least some extra module or even a sticker would be cool.

I'll still take the material awards. :)

So nothing extra is needed fine, but lets not forget that the whole reason it was changed was due to people whining. And other people thinking players just had a FC handed to them rather than grinding for weeks on end to obtain one. CG is one of the few times an FC actually makes money and helps the whole event move faster so rather than trying to block people out for earning something you're unwilling/unable to put the effort into, befriend an FC owner and utilize it as a resource. Tons of commanders were using them for rides and helping load/unload increasing their rating in the CG, other commanders were parking and selling to help the CG while making profit. It increases players interaction and adds new playstyles.

Everyone that think it's greedy to think that we that were in the top 25% should get something extra: Remember that we put in the effort, most of you didn't.
Knowing I could not do both CG's I took down 35 cyclops to make sure I was in the top 25% on the AX side. I could easily made top 75% in both CG's in a quarter of the time it took me to find and kill those 'goids, and I'm pretty sure that goes for many of us.

So how about those of us that did get to the top 25% get 2 of those FSD's? And if this means that those that were able to be top 25% in both CG's get 4 I'm cool with it; those guys earned it

Just a thought, Fdev...

Gifting the buffed FSD to the top 50% and 75% participants after all this whining on the forum is nice of you.
But those Commanders that actually did reach the top 25% deserve something extra too.

How about a paint color for our fleet carriers. Lol...
I think you guys got to have lots if extra time to play a video game and a fleet carrier

Guys, you’re on your own with this one.

Fdev gave you exactly what was promised. That you’re bent out of shape because they then gave it to others as well — which doesn’t affect you in the least — makes you seem like a spoiled child.

Don’t sell me the extra effort nonsense. This is a leisure activity; if you think it’s work, why are you playing at all?
