We have answered the PWA question in our opening post however I will answer it again here for you...

The team and I are acutely aware of the PWA issue and the justified frustrations this causes our players.

We have been raising it with the development team who are currently working hard trying to establish what has gone wrong and why.

Please bear in mind that this is an incredibly busy time for them and they are also hampered by working from home, which despite the best efforts of everyone involved does affect the collaborative effort when it comes to solving problems.

A) I do not know what is causing the issues

B) There were no notes on it because there was no intention to alter it

C) The re-balancing used historical data as well as current, as was stipulated this is an ongoing process and one we will refine if required.

All this PWA commentary cracks me up, it's not the PWA that's out of whack, its your ship that is incorrectly oriented :p

Seriously though, it also tickles me that none of you mining geniuses have figured out a workaround, like this one I came up after giving it 4 minutes thought...

Turn Flight Assist OFF, and pitch 180° (and counter to stop rotation)
Fire PWA while travelling backwards relative to the direction you are facing
Pitch 180° (and counter to stop rotation) to realign ship orientation with direction of travel
Turn Flight Assist ON and look for your next glowing bling boulder to blast
Buy Scottish sounding imperial bloke some Lavian Brandy as a thank you for this suggestion.

Epitome of what's wrong with the human race, LETS STICK A BANDAID ON IT INSTEAD OF FIXING IT. We all know that there is a work around, and that work around ruins immersion. Also, you make less money because it takes longer.... not worth it. Its not fun any more. So please don't be condescending and under rate this problem. This is literally my favorite thing in the game to do. It was the only thing that was well balanced, time/reward. Its one of the few things in this game that they nailed, and you wanna throw all that out the window and fly backwards......

FD are one of the worst dev teams for bug fixing. There have been persistent bugs in this game for years, broken mechanics and little annoyances that persist no matter how many times we mention them.

My feeling is that FD either don't know how to fix the PWA issue or that the fix will actually break a bunch of other things in the game. With Odyssey coming out in a few months which I hear will fundamentally change / upgrade the cobra engine I can't see them fixing this for a while yet.

Actually getting readings from it didn't take much thought. But they're whacked out when you do get them to show. Some fade out partially due to shader orientation or fogging.

Ultimately, it turns a tool that's required to make core mining the most efficient into a very inefficient process.

I'm not upset it's taken so long to fix. I mine almost exclusively through necessity and not for fun. But I never experienced the pwa in its fully functional state and watching videos of it make me think "man that's a lot easier than this right now". I managed to get some cores after a short time but it'd be much faster if it just worked how it used to, right?

I know this community are avid followers of the gods of "it's fine, just do this instead, here let me show you" but it really does need to be fixed.

Edit: I've just thought of the term for it... "Geeksplaining"

This state of mind, will be the undoing of this game.
