Mining for Raw materials?

Nope, in that case dont go to Crystalline Shard sites - you need at least 45-50 ly jump range, else it gets tricky (manual plotting and/or jumponium in some cases)
Try Bug killer Anaconda, you'll find the location in the Canon article i put in the link - makes for a nice experience if you manage to do some re-logs on site without going nuts (immersion!!!)
Best bit is, once you get there and collect all the bits you need, simply self destruct and you'll be back at your last station. Saves the 30 jumps back to civilisation.

Here's how I did it (with a new account, so I already knew my way around):

Go to the Bug Killer site: https://canonn.science/codex/bug-killer-crashed-anaconda/

Grab some top-grade materials.

Go to a Materials Trader (use Inara, look for Raw materials type). Trade, and make sure you get some sulphur and phosphorous (for SRV fuel/ammo refill sysnthesis).

Then go to the Crystalline Shards: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...using-crystalline-shards.481235/#post-7706483

Fill up completely on all top-grade materials except selenium. Then go back to a Raw Materials Trader and trade down.

Repeat as necessary.
Thank you my friend!

Let me also ask. Should I go back to Deciat first and attempt to do a few upgrades on my FSD? Do I just need a wake scanner to get the mats?

Also what is the best vehicle hangar to use? The one im using now is a 2G and the vehicle only has 2 cargo space

Try to do your FSD first just for that better jump range between system, less jumps.
The wake scanner will get you encoded materials, scanning ships wake after they jump- Distribution Centres in Famine systems are best for this.
Also sitting outside a station and scanning ships coming and going is good and whilst you're in supercruise travelling between systems.
You'll be surprised at how many you pick up anyway just going about your game.

I need Aytipical disrupted wake echoes, chemical processors and stange wake solutions

Strange Wake Solutions you'll definitely get at Distribution Centres in Famine systems.
Chemical Processors are Manufactured Materials so can't be scanned unfortunately.

Stick with it though as it can be very frustrating and overwhelming with the huge list of materials you need.
There's Raw, Encoded and Manufactured materials needed to engineer your ship.

Seriously, check out that video I mentioned.
Material Traders will help you lots.
HGEs are great for all your Manufactured.
Jameson Crash Site covers your Encoded.
Crystal Shards 1700ly out if you can stomach the journey but get that FSD upgraded and an SRV on and you're good to go.

It takes a while but you'll have a full inventory of all the materials you'll need to engineer a few ships at least.

Wht type of Hangar and vehicle do I need?

Dang this sounds complicated lol. Gonna need to make sure I have a ship for that task. My Asp Ex only has a 29ly Jump range

That's plenty, closest surface crystaline shard site is only 1200ly out, you can find brain trees and other sites only a few hundred light years from sol, any high grade mats will do then trade them down to sulfur at a raw mat trader.

No, no and again no.

I traveled across to the other side of Sag A* in a 30ly Type 6. The nearest surface shard site to Sol is in system Oochorrs SB-J d10-5, there is nothing between Sol and it that will give any problems to a ship with just under 30ly jump range.

Ok thanks. Guess I'll go to Sol and then the Oochorns place. BTW how I get in my SRV once I'm landed?

Panel 3 I think has the controls for SRV entry, the one between your legs (no, not the joystick!)
Ok so I got the vehicle deployed. Now its saying module isnt working because its too close to ship? Lol what

EDIT figured it out but damn kinda hard to drive. How do i scan for mats? Left click isnt working with my scanners

Your guns and thrusters (that allow you to jump) are disabled when you're right next to the ship, for safety reasons. The solution is to move a little way away from the ship, which you'll neeed to do anyway unless you happened to land right next to the first rock you want to shoot.

To save your next post, when you shoot a rock and release the contained raw materials you need to target them, open your SRV's cargo hatch and drive over the selected item.

Don't be scared of leaving your ship, you're in a space dune buggy. Your ship will sod off when you get outside a few KM range and orbit autonomously, awaiting you using panel 3 again to recall it and get back on board - just chill and enjoy the scenery.

Ok figuring the driving bit out a bit. How do I reboard the ship? I tried going back the way it released me or coming from behind and getting under it. Both ways are not allowing me to board the ship and using the "proceed to boarding" option is not working either

Look on the right of the screen - there's an indicator light that shows when you're under the hatch (the 'board ship' light illuminates). This is in the main HUD, not in panel 3.

It doesn't matter which way you're facing, can be forward, backwards, sideways - all that matters is that light and that you're stropped parked up there. As long as it's illuminated, go to panel 3 - board ship and your SRV is automatically orientated and taken aboard.

I'm off to bed now by the way but I'm sure someone else will dive in if you have further questions :D

For driving by the way take 'Flight Assist' OFF if you didn't do so already. It's totally separate from your ship's flight assist off and in the SRV it's pretty much essential. With FA OFF, you press the accelerator to speed up, release it and/or brake to slow down. Like a car. With FA ON, you need to use brake to slow down, simply releasing the accelerator maintains your speed, which has uses but is hardly intuitive in most people's opinion and makes driving a pain in the arx.

Welp, just dismissed my ship on accident
