Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Went to see if backers were discussing on Spectrum.

Not yet apparently.

However, did find this gem.

Best feature of 2020 was the roadmap! :ROFLMAO:

Not sure if they are trolling.

Some of us will tell our children how this game started it's journey before their time, and this road-map is not only a chronicle of the future, but also of the past. "You were born around the time New Babbage was built, in the midst of a global pandemic." (To me, New Babbage really is symbolic of 2020 - a warm hearth isolated in a cold, turbulent and lonely environment)

I'm not sure these people should be having children.

Did you play SE or EGS? Because it's absolutely the case. And with the perk that every single part of the ship has a structural'functional point, it's not just a 3d model. Heck, you could even EVA to the remote ship, hack its hangar door open, then go back to your ship and land before walking to the new ship's cockpit. Or its engines, or pressurisation control, etc. Because every system is effectively physicalised and bound to be somewhere.
Cyberpunk 2077 also has fully modelled cockpits. Even radio stations.

In X2 you could dock ships, i presume by X4 you can dock and walk around as well.

I guess this is just another case of some SC backers living in a bubble where they are not aware of what you can do in other games.
Played that a lot since it was one of the few space titles available on the Mac back in the day. Are you seriously comparing x2 to what I’ve shown? That’s in bad faith man and you know it. How did you like the review of yesterday night? Not really spectacular huh?

Yea I know, but not in this way, be serious, walking out your ship, going to the other cockpit with that detail, no
Well...I am not sure how much you are been playing SC but as much as I like to walk/run in first person view after a while could be really jarring experience especially long&boring elevators rides but I guess that elevators are there so that levels could be loaded in time........anyway bugs&glitches on side I am not getting p.ssed that much about those, crucial thing for me is the core of the game-play and in SC dog-fighting simply just s.cks even that flying experience is improved a bit for last few years fighting is still basically pew-pew"turrets in space" thing and FPS part from time to time ain't bad for certain things but also as a shooter is just bad same as those long&boring runings and elevators rides......

Pls leave our faith out of it. It has nothing to do with the topic. Is also poor style to brand other beliefs as bad.

This is something of taste. I personally really like the flight model, maybe because I used to play a lot of vendetta online and the dogfights feel similar

Space Engineers and Empyrion Galactic Survival: yes. There's nothing stopping you from making a small grid ship with a proper walkable cockpit, and landing it on a large grid ship.

Even the EGS tutorial has you build a small ship planetside, fly it to orbit, land inside a large ship, walk to the captain's office for a chat, then take the lift to the helm and fly the big ship out of the system.

Hah nuts. It still displays as an outstanding charge on Companies House, but I assumed that was just sloppy admin by CIG UK.

And they are still paying interest on it

Contains fixed charge.
Contains floating charge.
Floating charge covers all the property or undertaking of the company.
Contains negative pledge.

I particularly like the words "negative pledge"

I’ve never played Empyrion, I’m not really a survival game fan, but I’ve tried and seen space engineers a lot. It’s cool, not exactly my thing, but in the end, it’s just a better looking minecraft, the detail is not even close to SC. My opinion.

Perhaps try reading my post again. I'm aware X2 had docking, but that doesn't cover the FPS part, which i was questioning whether X4 also covered (ie: walking around inside ships after docking, like in SC).

So i was asking does X4 meet the requirements. Not stating X2 does.

Apparently the answer was yes, X4 does.

So nothing was in bad faith.

Have you seen the interiors and spaces you can walk in in X4? Cool game and a shame I don’t have the time anymore to play it, but it’s not even close.

As i said, i'm not really aware of the details with X4, which is why i was asking.

But please refer back to my earlier post about how backers love to play the fidelity card when their claims of "never been done before" have been shot down.

So... well done!

X4 isn't seemless. There is black screen transition. Then corridors and cockpit. Sometimes a flight deck.
