Why FDev.. just why make this game so tedious on purpose?

So I recently felt the spark for me to play the game of late was dwindling. The idea of starting from scratch got me excited so I did it. My first save was all about efficiency. LTD mining. Jumping to the raw mat planets. High grade emissions loop etc.

This time I'm playing it for enjoyment and already feel addicted again. I occasionally jump into the FSS while couriering and have had great fun finding HGE's then popping over to them and manually scooping. Once I outfit my ship with a hanger I'll do the same with the planets and mats. Sure, it isn't the most efficient way to play the game, but then again, playing a video game isn't the most efficient way of spending my time. Do it for the fun.

It is deliberatly as long as it is to actually hammer the point home. A simple piece of text would not do it justice.

Yes yes, clearly the devs try and make the game as tedious as possible. This is purely intentional because the devs don't want people to play the game. They secretly hate the money they get from people who somehow, against all odds, actually enjoy the game.

I am not taking this personally, i went into this discussion awaiting this exact outcome. Also i am not disrespecting anyone here. At least i don't think i do. The Problem for me is that you can not really argue for or against certain game mechanics in most games, since everytime you bring up a topic, in any game, it will be instantly shot down by "don't like it, play something else". This is not a healthy approach to discussion. It is mostly like that and there are no big changes to implemented gameplay mechanics since someone would always be ed. This is normal and i do not expect to get anything out of it except enjoyment.

You seem like one of the cooler guys here actually. No offense meant and no apology needed from your part.

So you are telling me the game is at the peak of videogame epiphany with all its mechanics and no feedback is required? And you are also telling me that the minigames are put in place deliberately to constantly need your attention and not be challenging at the same time? You can tell me that you enjoy doing 100 hyperspace jumps, that is fine. But that is not a good approach for a videogame. I play elite because there is no other similar game but i do not need to argue with you guys why i play the game. I paid 60 bucks for it and i think i am allowed to complain about any gameplay mechanic there is if i like to. You know, you could just simply not reply and move on to another thread.

PS: Using SRV turrets can help. Also material traders, the advice about collecting mats by doing in Elite what you like and then hit the traders is quite sound actually.

Well i flew over 20KLy down into the black since friday evening, scanned over 500 systems and tagged 200 of them as first discovery. Came back to the bubble and got a measily 150.000.000 credits. I could have flown Robigo or Lasermine the time and get a hundredfold of it. It was fun, albeit not rewarding.

That's what I did in 2013, by watching David Braben's Development Diaries on YouTube. Nearly 8 years later, and we still can't board ships or 'go on safari'.

Still a good game, but miles off the original vision that sold it to a lot of Premium Beta customers like me.

Isn't that wht minigames is all about? I have no issues with any of the "minigames", although I am not certain of what you speak of

Nobody enjoys this, I am fairly certain. But, space is big, and tbh in my opinion, any way to "cheat" around this would make the game feel much smaller than it is. (same goes for supercruise)

Indeed you are, but, see above. There is also many ways to complain and get your opinion out here, and also how you respond to other people. Expect a discussion, simple as that.
