I started the community and then barely anyone showed up to participate in anything, so that's it for me. I'm done trying to do things for other people anymore. It's not worth wasting my time.

That's one brilliant initiative.
ED has a lot of potential for in-game roleplay, and it would be especially interesting to take part in the voice roleplay sessions.
hi mate, I love this idea, I hope the following information helps you.Okay, so I don't know if anyone has seen my posts before but I have been interested in enhancing my Elite Dangerous game-play by adding an element of in game role play. This will only get more immersive once Odyssey launches, so I figured that I'd get a head start on it.
I have pretty much put the entire discord together and will be ready to open it to public soon, however, I have a few questions that I need the community to answer!
1. What private group should we utilize?
I've heard that Drew Wagar has a private group for Roleplay, I was thinking of either contacting him to have players join that one (if he is even responsive to the idea - haven't even begun to ask), or we can join one that I have, or we can all just play in open. The idea that I had was strict PVE would be done in PG and PVP stuff done in Open. I'm a fan of both play modes, and plan on utilizing both for role-play. I'm just spitballing some ideas.
2. What sort of RP Guidelines should be followed in game and in text RP?
As far as I know, there is no dice bot for discord - if you know of one, please let me know. All of us have different backgrounds when it comes to roleplay - whether it be tabletop, virtual, larp, or otherwise. There are hundreds of different variations to denote actions (ie. action, ::action::, <<Action>>, etc). The question is, should we establish our OWN set of guidelines agreed upon by the community, use ones that may already be established, or should we mix and match ones to suit our needs?
Let me know what you all think! I will be working non-stop on the discord - and working on something cool for "radio comms".![]()

For a dice bot maybe look at :- Dice Maiden | Discord Bots (top.gg)
There is an EDRPG book :- Elite Dangerous RPG - Spidermind Games
My self and a few others are about to start an Elite Dangerous RPG group, with missions and outcomes reported on in our news program that we already have, The Fatherhood News Podcast.

Loads of random dice rollers on the net. Like the idea so far.
When your group gets to the point where they are about to undertake a mission in game and you need a bad guy to take actions in support of a scenario that NPCs can't be substituted for feel free to hit me up.
Any RP Groups interested in a freelance villain?
Do you have an RP group on PC? Do you like to organize in game events? Do you need a villain for your heroes to defeat and those pesky NPC's won't stick to a script? Well, I'll be your villainous content the next time you need a stand in for a certain persona. Example archetypes: Stop a...forums.frontier.co.uk

Ive had ED since beta played teh original . Its so incredibly griny. I cant imagine getting anaconda or fleet carrier in my life time. Yes having those credit farms for sale sdoesn thelp eith er since it distorts the market.I think the main problem is, the game has been out for a while, and most people don't have the attention span or discipline to play a game that requires time and dedication. We've seen a TON of new players fall off in the last few months because the game is "too grindy". Seems like if people can't unlock everything in a week, it's too much of a grind.
I've even seen people pay for services to unlock things for them on ED. Can't fix laziness I suppose.
I am a healthy person who is of working age. I would also like to play ED and have time left for other activities.I agree. I've been searching around for months, and haven't seen anything that's quite what I'm looking for. I absolutely love the game and role play. I'm a disabled veteran, I'm retired, and I have a LOT of free time on my hands, so I figured - why not? LOL
It especially motivates me because I see people who make third party programs for free for players - I love this community and would love to share in immersive role play experiences with you all!

Also travel times are just ridiculous. People have lives. In the other F games they have a count timer say 2min to create dino. Not one 1hr!
People are free to leave if the want. ED is confused is it a game or a sim? Atech demo?#
